its not time travel, its multiverse (multiple universe).
in my opinion, multiverse theories are stupid.
the multiverse theory states that there is an infinite amount of similar universes. in the case of infinite, two universes come from the baptism, one where he accepts (and is reborn as comstock) and one where he declines (and remains booker).
there is always a universe for each outcome for everything. have 3 cereals to choose for breakfast? there's a universe where you pick cereal a, a universe for cereal b, a universe for cereal c, a universe where you don't eat breakfast, a universe where you go out for breakfast at restaurant a, a universe where you go out for breakfast at restaurant b, etc...
now, i think multiverse theories are stupid because it doesn't matter what happens in your universe, in at least one of the infinite number of universes, there is the perfect ending. there's no tension anymore because i know that no matter how hard the odds are stacked against me, there's a universe where i succeed.

That everything we see, we hear, we feel is just a lie made by our brain?

Thing is, you do not know, but the best thing is to assume that things are not an illusion, that everything you see IS real, that we DO have a choice.
Because if we believe we can do something in our lives, we can accomplish greatness.
We can accomplish happiness.
And that is all what matters, is it not? :D

btw, if its (AGAIN) the "if i go into the past and kill your great-grandfather, you'll never exist" story, it has been around before even my grandfather was born, therefore, props for the scenery. FFX was almost the same, but at least they changed it slightly...
