Notice how you said types of ramen

Ramens is not a shorter way of saying "Types of ramen"

http://www.ramenlicious.com/encyclopedia/ramens.html

Lets take a word like caramel
Do you say, "hey can I eat some caramels"
"Look at that bowl full of caramels"
"Holy ****, that porn star is covered in caramels"

True, but I know jack **** about latin and I seriously doubt that it will have any effect on my main point at all.

It is most certainly not.
I'm assuming that you mean a generalization fallacy since you don't explain jack **** like always.
Every word is different, I'm just using "camera" as an example to support my main point, not to prove it. But it seems my main point went over your head yet again as is the norm by now..

So "animes" and "sushis" and "ramens" sound right to you?

Full metal alchemist was also good.
Flame of Recca.
Elfenlied.
Psyren.
Gantz. (One sick series)

I've read all of those :D

FMA is really good. I love the element of equal exchange.

Flame of Recca is pretty bad in all honesty. The art is below average and the story is not memorable. I dropped it after a few hundred chapters.

Elfenlied is pretty decent. Aside from a few stupid and weird parts it was quite good.

Psyren is quite good. It's a pretty overlooked manga that deserves more attention. Not that it's amazing, but it's well worth reading. My main gripe is probably how much the concept and focus changes throughout. You'll notice a disconnect between some parts of the manga if you pay attention(the biggest one is probably between the first volume or so and the rest).

I've read almost all of Gantz, I just haven't read the new chapters from the last 6months or so. It has some really, really cool parts, but the use of nudity is sometimes just too much.. That's probably what keeps me from really recommending it to anybody. Berserk does nudity in general better. It doesn't feel at all as out of place as it does in Gantz.

Will check out the suggested series once I get home. Hope they're good. :-)

Well... No one else seems to mind the post length. I've got a disclaimer in my sig, anyway, so tough cookies. And, honestly, I kinda' like that this is the only bloody thread on this entire site where I can actually write something longer than half of a paragraph without getting flamed for post length.

As for the grammar stuff, off-topic threads have a fun tendency to exhibit the property known, colloquially, as "topic drift".

Back to anime !

Lately I finished watching Kokoro Connect. What I Thought about it? It was great. It was funny, the romance was good and not that much "clear-cut". What really got me into this anime though are the feelings it treats through the episodes. Hatred, jealousy, love, friendship, desires, revenge, fear...everything was so detailed to the point you find yourself thinking about what they said for minutes after the episode ends.

You should give it a try.

Right now I just watched the first episode of Chrno Crusade. The quality of the files was kinda bad so if anyone has a link/torrent for HD Chrno Crusade that'd be nice :) First episode was kinda not appealing, even bad. But the comedy scenes were funny a bit, so I'm leaving Chrno Crusade for later and planning to watch Shiki and Nichijou for the first time this week.

PS: It'd be nice if people kept updating this thread with animes/mangas they recently watched/read, what they thought of it, whether they recommend it or not, and what they're watching/reading next (Like I did above).

I enjoyed Kokoro Connect. I hesitate to really call it good, but its certainly better than a lot of other romcoms out there. It goes on a bit too long, though. After a while, constantly having to deal with one or another of the characters trying to go crazy got a little annoying. The romance is okay, but not central to the plot; still, it felt nice when the romance subplots got resolved. Overall, Kokoro Connect is one of my favorite anime series from the past year or so.

Wow, I totally never noticed the typo in Chrono Crusade's title. I'm never going to be able to actually type it that way repeatedly, so I just won't bother.

I read a few volumes of the manga, and it was fun, but its not anything special. Then again, I'm not generally a fan of shonen-type series, so take my opinion with a large grain of salt.

On the subject of Shiki, I really detest that series. Really, really, really detest. It starts out as a great horror series, and does several episodes of that... But then by the end it turns into (rather mediocre) zombie survival. I watched it and got really into the actual horror elements, and the series was great while it was doing horror. But then once the survival elements started, with people killing zombies and such, I just wanted to shake the series and ask, "What the flaming unicorn cheesecake keepers? This isn't what I signed up for." It goes back to what I mentioned (quite a few pages ago) about stories needing to quickly establish what their ending is going to be. Shiki told me, at the start, that it was going to be a horror anime. And then it did something else. That's not okay. And it's really a shame, because the early parts of Shiki were so good.

On that note, I haven't gotten around to explaining my thoughts on the rest of last season's anime yet. Time for some fun.

Zetsuen no Tempest's ending wasn't spectacular, but it didn't fall into the very typical anime trap of "things end by going back to how they were several episodes ago", so my feelings are really mixed. It also had a tone shift int he middle, where the characters dealt with much of what I thought the story was going to be from episode 1. On the story-theory end, it wasn't so bad, because the whole series is tied together by elements established early in episode 1, but it was somewhat confusing and left me unsure of where the story was going. Overall, its a decent anime and worth watching if you enjoy somewhat slow-moving anime about saving the world and feelings and also a little fighting.

Kotoura-san was a very typical romcom. Which is sad, because its premise (female lead has telepathy) could have been significantly more. It also got bogged down towards the end as it dealt with some find-the-criminal (not detective) elements that were at odds with its main romance plot. Overall, it's mediocre and not worth watching unless you're really into romcoms.

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT's ending was terrible. It was a blatantly obvious season 3 setup, to the point that season 2 didn't even actually end in any real way. The anime is too heavy on fanservice and abuses the oblivious-male-lead harem trope to the point where it even has to explain it for it to make sense (the latter of which I kinda' actually like it for). Overall, its terrible and not worth watching unless you really enjoyed the first series and want more of the same except with more tits and ***.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha was one of my favorite anime from this season, even though it had a silly humans-against-demons premise and an obviously low art budget. It has some romcom elements, but its main plot point is the Mao (Demon King, who's a woman) and Hero trying to end the war in a way that involves neither side winning. It talks a lot about politics and economics, and at those times it's at its best. Unfortuantely, it doesn't end well; the 12 episodes don't get through the entire plot and leave way too many unresolved threads. I'm really hoping for a second season, because without one the anime is just plain incomplete, and an incomplete anime is always bad.

Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru (OreShura for short) was a pretty standard romcom. The ending leaves a lot to be desired, due to second season setup. I don't really have much to say about it, honestly. It's not bad, particularly, but its not really worth considering unless you really enjoy romcoms.

ok so with the new anime season coming out, I'll just post what I watched so far and what I think if people care about it ; _ ;.

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru - uh it was okay for first episode. I'll give it a couple more. I think it has potential to grow.

DATE A LIVE - WHAT THE **** AM I WATCHING I AM SO CONFUSED. THERES SOME SPACESHIP **** AND HIS SISTER IS THE CAPTAIN? WHY? ?????????????????_??????????????

Hataraku Maou-sama! - This actually wasnt bad imo. I can tell this anime is gonna be a hate or love but I liked the artstyle and it seemed interesting so I'll def keep watching unless it turns ****ty.

Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Bride - I think I watched the first season like 2 years ago and idk, mayby my taste of anime has "developed" but I really didn't like the first episode and don't remember it being as enjoyable as the first season. I'll give it another episode I guess just cause I watched the first season in the past.

Oreimo S2 - A lot of people are pretty hyped for this anime. I'm not a huge fan but I'll watch it to kill time ~_~

Photokano - WTF AM I WATCHING. I like ecchi but this anime literally has like no plot. I looked this anime up afterwards to see if its just an awful first episode but the anime sites described it how I did. "Pokesnap but with girls and ****ty plot."

anyone have suggestions for this season's new anime? The above is all I had a chance to check out so far.
