This happens in normals too, it all depends on your MMR/elo. The higher you go, the less frequent toxic players are (though they exist at all tiers as far as I can tell). I imagine the reason it's like this for you is because your normal MMR is a lot higher than your ranked elo.

yep good edit. This is totally wrong. People at high elo rage just as much, if not more. It's just that the reasons why they rage are slightly different. Instead of ''wtf, start last hitting'', it's more like, ''lol this ADC can't farm for his life'' when he has 20 less cs than the enemy ADC
