Hmm I know how I sometimes use more pots. It's when I smite Blue and do golems before red. I usually do smiteless and lvl 2 red and then gank when it gives me 3 and ignore golems for a while.

This is exactly my path. Wolves > Smiteless Blue > Red (Smite) > Lv3 Gank... fail or triumph I'll clear Wraiths/Golems and then attempt a gank at the opposite end and mid before my first return. I like to shake up every lane at least once before going back.
I'm unsure how it's going to work after the mid/late game shield nerfs and Wolves/Wraiths timing change. I'll likely max E after taking two points in W at Lv4.
After some more Naut in silver, and with the new jungle, I've been doing smiteless blue, wolves, wraiths, red then I camp the nearest gankable lane until we get a kill. Even if it takes 3 or 4 tries. Then I come back for a second kill soon after when they get back. With Naut's cc its so easy. Then the lane snowballs and i can move onto somewhere else. Ive been getting counter-jungled at my red a lot though =(

I do basically the same thing, most of the time. Except that I go from a smiteless blue straight to red, skill Q at 3, and just start ganking. And that I start red instead a lot when I'm worried that the enemy jungler is going to try to counterjungle me.

Ask your support to ward your red bush. Let the nearby lane (top or bot) know that Nunu may
come, (Or Shaco, whoever is aknown red invader), that when you see the enemy jungler in the
bush - to converge.
When you see the enemy jungler int he bush, just keep fighting red - pretend you don't see
him, and get ready to lasthit smite if you have to - but your friendly lane should be there
before the buff gets low enough for that, depending on the enemy jungler's actions.
If you do it right, you'll get the buff mid-fight (hit level 3), and the enemy jungler will be
pinched.

Easy solution. Ward his red and counter-steal their red after a smiteless. If it's
