FML suppose I will just queue with my level 30 friends and play like that so it is more fun even with no runes/masteries.
If I have helped in anyway at all a +rep will be appreciated lots

Thanks to LaCorpse, Hogopogo and JhoiJhoi for the amazing sigs
I play ranked because it is the only place to learn.
You can't learn new champs in normals. You just can't.
You can get a basic understanding of their mechanics, but this will not help you against other skilled players. The best way is to just play champs you want to learn in ranked.
I know a lot of people are against this, because they dislike having inexperienced players playing champs they aren't very good with in ranked, but it severely decreases the learning curve on a lot of champs.
I get so incredibly bored in normals, it is good when you have a group of friends to play with as you can just derp around and have fun. But by yourself there is only trolls and ragers to accompany you. At least in ranked it is less likely to come across these people and everyone is playing to win. I would rather have a player who knows the game playing a champ he doens't know, then a player who doesn't know the game playing a champ he mains.

Mundo goes where he pleases.
And pleases, where he goes.
usually my goal is to get matched against better players and be able to apply for better teams. but atm (ie after my exams) my goal is mid-high d1 so i can properly advertise my stream
Honestly i've never cared. When hecarim was op i carried my friend like 40 games with him but that's the only time i've really played ranked for srs.

I don't play ranked yet, but I am certainly interested and there are several reasons why. As I wrote in a blog a bit ago, I am very much intrigued by the higher levels of play and find my current level a little lacklustre. It's oddly frustrating when I do stupid stuff that really shouldn't work but somehow still does. At least I recognise that it succeeds more by virtue of fluke/weak opponents than any desirable play, makes it easier to improve.
I also want a more tangible means of identifying my progress than looking at the ranks of people matched up in my normals. It's more rewarding to recognise how I have improved than simply that I have, nevertheless, I'd like to actually know where I am. I can recognise various aspects of the game in which I've improved, but how? Have I gone from Bronze III plays to Bronze I, Bronze to Silver? I'd like to actually chart that improvement. I'm also a massive overachiever. I don't put much time into LoL at the moment so I'm not really bothered about my slow progress (despite what my incessant self-criticism might imply), but if I was putting that time in then I would expect the results and wind up frustrated by any lack of progress that might occur.

To improve. Having said that I tend not to play a lot of ranked though, I play with friends more often because it's more enjoyable and I still have ranked anxiety. Still, I always play pretty serious. I don't really care whether or not others will respect me more, though, I try to improve just because I want to.
I try to climb Elo because I want to know where my limits are and I want to improve as an individual player. Besides, it's a feeling of group pressure develops when you're the only who's not playing Ranked in your circle of friends.

There's a way to powerlevel accounts on Twisted Treeline in case you aren't aware. Search it on Youtube, you can level up an account to 30 in just 2 days or something if you buy an XP boost. Granted it will be a very boring 2 days, but still. :P
The old way to get it in 2 days on TT was a bug that they patched. Its not as fast anymore =/
