Get it on
Olaf now and then as first complete item in top lane.
Reasons for that:
1. Cheap and effective
2.
Olaf needs his HP and CDR for E spam
3. I always build
Kindlegem as soon as possible on him
I wouldn't recommend it on just about any top laner, but any bruiser that is happy stacking HP and/or CDR early, it is definitely worthwhile.
And I don't agree it replaced
Warmog's Armor. 500 HP is still 500 HP. I think they fill different needs.

I dunno, I haven't built a
Warmog's Armor for a long time, by which I mean the beginning of Season 3. I didn't use it after the nerf at all.
On the other hand, I have built
Sunfire Aegis,
Spirit Visage and
Spirit of the Ancient Golem a LOT.

On the other hand, I have built

I don't even bother with
Mercury's Treads on Tanks or Bruisers anymore thanks to
Spirit of the Ancient Golem and I enjoy more freedom in my boot choices and delaying boots or boot upgrades just frees up soo much gold its not even funny.

I still buy Warmogs on Mundo :3
Other than that, not a lot of other champs.
Spirit of the Ancient Golem seems an interesting pick, though I mostly pick SV and SC for my health problems :3
How cost effective is it anyway? I mean, all stats excluding the unique passives make a total of 2566g of worth, but how much gold is tenacity worth :O

In Korea, everyone builds 1 spirit item except support and mid to give your team more objective control. This reminds me on the good old TSM strategy to get 3
Wriggle's Lantern and have through that objective control.
Spirit of the Ancient Golem and
Spirit of the Elder Lizard are both really strong items.

On the other hand,
I think
Edit: Also the increased jungle damage is not entirely wsted if you can farm jungle camps and gives quite some additional damage to baron/dragon.
