@Levask: Saying "you beat a diamond / plat" might have many other factors than just skill v skill.

Looking at your server, no offense, but EUNE hasn't had a great reputation for skill.

Furthermore, being matched with plats (assuming in normals) means that your MMR is either high, which you'd be paired with a bunch of plats, or their MMR is low, which means they may have been eloboosted, are trolling, stopped playing ranked, or many other reasons.

Even IF their actual skill was worse than yours, your specific example doesn't disprove the general average of plats being much better than golds.

It's like saying "I BEAT A DIAMOND IN LANE I SHOULD BE DIAMOND TOO" which of course is faulty logic.

It seems that people miss understood me or more then likely I didn't express myself properly.I only brought up me winning vs plats constantly as an example as to why I don't consider plat to be high elo which is due to the inconsistency of skill among plats that I've played/seen playing.

Vynertje-I too would consider it luck if I won once or twice, but because it has happened 10+ times I find it hard to call it luck.I only brought up the Zed example ,because his decision making was really poor it never occurred that he should ward his jungle to prevent me counter jungling him when ever I pleased. (I'm aware that J4 is amazing jungler while Zed is bad).

Embracing-I'm well aware that there are other factors beside skill ,but I would never consider me beating a plat player if I had jungle support or help from my team. I also mentioned that it could be server dependent (I have heard that Eu/Ne is considered a weaker server in terms of average player skill, but because I have never played on EU/W and only a handful of games on NA I can't confirm or deny it).
I have no idea if I've ever been matched with plats in normals since I hardly if ever play them and if I do I never check up on players I get matched with.Every time I got matched with plat players was in ranked, because they were duo q with low league players.
I am not trying to disprove that on average a plat player is better then gold ,cuz that would be silly I was merely trying to give an examples as to why I don't consider plat high elo and I assumed that calling myself a nooblord would be enough to indicate that I don't consider myself
a good player and I don't believe that ,because I won vs them I deserve to be plat (I know I still need a lot of work before that).

P.s.If this is not enough to fully explain what I was trying to say I will try again.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

I think you should take the thought out of it and go by badges.

When you try to dictate person by person what is high and what is low you get a big ******ed ****fest.

If I were going to make a chart though, I would create three categories because I believe that two is not enough. I think for example that a plat 5 player and a plat 1 player are worlds apart, but a gold 1 and a plat 5 are next door neighbors.

This would be how I break them up:

Low Elo: Bronze - Silver

Mid Elo: Gold - Plat

High elo: Diamond - Challenger

It works nicely, you have 2 tiers per category, and the high Elo is fairly elite in this regard.

I'm not so sure it's a skill gap between Bronze - Gold as much as it is a decision-making gap. I think there is some truth that Bronze players are just mechanically worse than Platinum players, but I think the main thing that holds people back in Bronze and Silver, sometimes even Gold is they have really poor decision making and don't really understand the game.

I've read that a lot of people are saying Plat and Diamond aren't as elite as they used to be, and that's probably true. But we should remember that as the game grows so do the number of people in each bracket. The brackets are technically supposed to be representative of a percentage of the League population (for example Gold is supposed to be top 10% of something like that). So it's probably still somewhat representative of that percentage even if the overall skill has gone down, they still among the elite percentage whatever it may be

i gotta disagree with you there. gold1 to plat5 took me and literally everyone i know like 5-6 repeated bo5s of utter tryharding and as cancerous of picks as possible. my climb to plat1 was no sweat though but ive no clue about the bo5 to diamond.
