i sometimes don't smartcast the lb q just to make sure of when i can combo and get out without getting hurt.

It can be annoying though when you main support and you can accidentally shield yourself instead of ADC or heal a minion -.-

I smartcast everything except wards (so item slots 4 and 5 for me)

Everything, but I have all of my spells bound to 1-2-3-4 for range checking on things like Final Spark.

i started to smartcast everything as soon as i started to play ryze and now i can't normal cast anymore.

If you're using 5-6 for smartcasting items and t for normal casting wards - you're me.
