I think why support role is not popular or even jungle is your not role getting kills you feel like you matter less. If you playing adc the game calls out your actions say if you get a penta or triple kill. There is no such thing for supports so you feel like your a sidekick role who is there to support the real player.

Maybe it could call out quadra assists or even killing or planting wards.

In world's and other tournaments the crowd claps when the screen goes to a support killing a ward =)

Also that would change nothing it's just a generally boring role and in ranked you can carry by making plays and getting your ADC fed but sometimes they will just not cooperate and you will end up being almost useless. If you can make plays its kinda safer to use that ability to get yourself fed as the ADC Jungler top or mid because those champions can carry much harder and lots of people are in this mindset so they think it's impossible to carry from support and people always want to carry because nobody trusts their random teammates. I'm talking from a sub-plat point of view so I'm not sure if it gets better/different up there.

I think your right, also people don't like playing support because they are always first to blame when the ADC walks into to facecheck a bush.

The idea of putting more importance on the support my hopefully boost the moral of the team into understanding supporting is not an easy job

watch as in every teamfight as everyone gets a penta assist and they have to announce it to every single person or else one will feel left out

It shouldn't be announced, but there should be an "Assisting spree" system, where you gain moe gold the more assists you get withouth dying, this would be great both for supports and junglers.

This sounds the most reasonable, to me. Not sure what the quote would be. "An ally is helping" just sounds lame. "An ally should be thanked" would be kinda funny.

That would be too noisy and I don't think it's necessary anyway. Wanting recognition just for playing a not-so-popular role sounds pretty needy if you ask me.
