Shouldn't that be the approach we all take? I feel like people shoot down, not only build ideas, but entire champions (and a lot of them) rather quickly.

Not that I'm arguing with people who have more experience than me, or anything. I'm just saying. Wouldn't we all be better if we were willing to use unorthodox builds/champs? And, also, isn't using a rarely used champ kind of an advantage in itself? (meaning, opponents won't be as used to the timing/moves)

Just spitballing here. Let me get my flame shield.

Unorthodox is not bad, but doing something bad then defending it with "It's unorthodox!" is completely fallacious. If you want to try something different, first think about if it is actually better than the conventional way. Weigh the pros and cons.

Of course, I agree with you there. I guess the tendency to shoot down champs/builds that aren't commonly seen is because people would rather you go in with a sure thing--or at least, something they know how to coordinate with--rather than risk screwing up their ELO score because you felt like "experimenting".

Still, though, I think there's a balance to be struck between the two mindsets that hasn't quite been struck, yet (at least, based on what I've read/experienced).

Also, I accidentally permalinked your previous post, Satella. I have no idea what that does, but it happened, and now we all have to live with it.

To add to this, people have been playing League for over three years and the current metagame has been evolving for over two. If you come up with a different idea it's usually a safe bet that many people have already tried it in the past and that there's a reason it isn't being used.

It just links you to a direct URL for the comment so when you read a hillariously dumb post you can send it to all your friends quickly and conviniently. At least that's how I use it hue.

AP + attack speed works also really well on Kog'Maw if you want him as a mid-laner. Nashor's Tooth and Guinsoo's Rageblade are great items for that, and take Athene's Unholy Grail to keep spamming your ult without getting OOM.

If you really want to fit a Kog'Maw hyper carry into a team, you have to build a team around him. Back at Gamescom in S1, CLG and many more used Zilean in mid lane just to protect their super lategame ad-carry, which was most of the time Kog'Maw. Another great option is Yorick top lane, which adds even more protection and a tanky frontline. In the jungle, one of the best would be Jarvan IV as this team lacks atm initiation and Jarvan IV brings that, he can also peel for Kog'Maw with his combos. For support, I would even try running Morgana, if she catches someone with her binding, that target is most of the time dead, she adds even more power to defend Kog'Maw with her shield and her ult stops people from bashing at Kog'Maw aswell. If you can combine that and carry Kog'Maw through the earlygame, you win.
He is gonna kill you!!!

I build Kog'Maw similarly to how I build crittlesticks only with a botrk. I try to max crit chance on him with items like statik shiv after i get a botrk for lifesteal, then i go with phantom dancer for the speed and finish it off with infinite edge. I sometimes change the order of phantom dancer and infinite edge though it i can get infinite edge early. My main problem with kogmaw is when you play him, everyone else needs to play protect the kog'maw.

That is a quite bad build - I think you really want the armor pen from LW.

I think i would rush Phage+ Enchantment: Furor on Kog'Maw (after Doran's of course), simply because his ****ty escapes. If you then can combine your range+kiting, it should give you a serious advantage over your opponent, mostly because your ultimate and w already add a great amount of damage.

After that I would go for Zeal, then Blade of the Ruined King, then Trinity Force. The rest of the order kinda depends on the game, but an Infinity Edge and Last Whisper are a must have.
