Vynertje: But if you won't be jungling a lot, Spirit of the Ancient Golem can be grabbed after Sorcerer's Shoes. Mobi boots are fine as well, will probably put that into the guide. Rushing sorcs early gives Elise enough movespeed and increased damage in ganks which is all she really needs early game.
In many cases, that is true. If 20% cdr isn't that good, then I'm not sure what is though. Both Randuin's Omen and Frozen Heart have there place on Elise, and I can't argue the fact that Randuin's Omen has some plus over Frozen Heart and vice versa.
If it's absolutely necessary to put hybrid penetration marks into the cheat sheet then I might as well. Readers can hopefully find the runes section in the guide anyways if they need further assistance.
Truth be told, Elise cannot wield a single build into each match. There will be anything from minor to major changes to the build depending on the situations and team composition. So yes, one build may be superior in one situation, but in a different one, it may be inferior.
Sorcerer's shoes do not give any useful stats in a fight (spellpen is only marginal), the movement speed is K but if you really want to roam around effectively, you should get mobi boots. Health is the most valuable stat early game which is another good reason why it beats spellpen boots in pretty much any situation.
Frozen heart just sucks because you need a healthy balance between HP and Armor. You don't need the mana and while CDR is good, it isn't THAT good. Basically, the 25 extra armor it gives just doesn't weigh up to the stronger passive/active and 500(!) health.
Also, saying "players don't have IP for hyprid pen marks" is no reason to not recommend them. Cheat sheet is the most important aspect of the guide and it needs to be correct. Movement speed quints are expensive as well but you still recommend them as well (even though magic pen quints clearly beat them).
And yes, elise can be played multiple ways. However, there definitely is a way that is superior to the other.
@Vynertje
I'd really like to see a few arguments from both sides regarding her gameplay. Spirit items are usually rushed for their gold efficiency though.
If you look closely,
Elise can be played different ways
Sorcerer's Shoes is effective to rush for mobility. Mobility is necessary for moving around the map quicker to get to places you need. Rushing Spirit of the Ancient Golem is only very effective if you plan on jungling majority of the early to mid game. Sorcerer's Shoes also helps with damage through ganks. You should be ganking majority of the time to help win lanes and pressure the opposing team.
I've taken your advice and moved Locket of the Iron Solari to third item over Liandry's Torment. Regardless it is still an effective item throughout the game, as the shield scales per level.
You did not leave any reasons as to why Frozen Heart is bad. Along with the cool-down reduction it gives that Randuin's Omen does not, in any fight all your opponents will have reduced attack speed regardless whether they attack you or not. I forgot to mention that I never said Randuin's Omen is bad (as it is in the guide of selectable options which you probably didn't even bother to check anyways).
What's wrong with starting Elixir of Brilliance? It's effective if used appropriately. It's an alternative start for a reason.
Situational items are all mentioned in the item section. If one is too lazy to scroll there I also have goto icons that make it very easy to see what items are optimal for each stat.
Most players don't have enough IP for greater mark of hybrid penetration. This is also listed in the guide in the runes section.
I apologize for not replying earlier due to a new semester starting and with increased workload I was not able to get to the comments. However, it would be very appreciative if you went forth and read the guide before leaving feedback that easily shows me you didn't and probably looked at nothing but the cheat sheet.
Enjoy a +1 :P
