And finaly i think that your build is a monster of offensive , it has no gap cover in case i fail. But thanks , i made a big image on how poppy supp should be played yet id go for 0 18/19 11/12 for some gold , mana regen and cd for D-F
i rly <3 your Poppy guide. It made me to play Poppy as support.
Eventho i get too much hate from ADCs, through we are winning. Also got a little problems with golds at start to get core items.
Most people blaming me for not buying SightStone. Are you buying loads of regular wards instead of buying SightStone ?
So much hate for such a cute hero <3 Poppy!
As for playing poppy in the first place, it is pretty strong early, it has mega sustain with the runes i've given. However, the main reason is that - no-one expects a poppy support, you trick the enemy, and already they're at a disadvantage since typically not many players know how to deal with poppy, let alone poppy support -- this brings me onto the point of baiting...you'll find a lot of people will try dive you or initiate on you -- to which you can turn around pretty fast with ult+heal+barrier...as long as you time it well.
Your second point: Top/Jungle works, but this is primarily a support guide. I play her anywhere, i just wanted to share with players out there who like to try new roles and champs that support poppy works, and is fun to play. I've reached d1, and d2 on my smurf playing poppy support in 80% of the games, so its not 'luck'. Towards the later stages of the game, you can probably get tiamat and pressure the lanes till late. I usually do this when I realize the game will be difficult.
questions:
1. Yes
2. No
3. Your ult disables and you take damage from everyone.
This specific champ and role will take some time to get used to and master. It won't be an easy ride, but im sure if you want to try it, be my guest~~and if you're on EUW add me and i can help you out!
Thanks,
Xiaowiriamu
This leads me to wonder why go support with Poppy in the first place? I mean, she has a weak early game and a strong late game, so it seems counter-intuitive to put her in the role where she will get the least CS and the least exp, thus extending the time she is weak in early game. Like, why not Top or Jungle where you can level up and CS faster? What actual advantages does going sup have?
Some other questions:
1. When her ult is on somebody, is she invulnerable to turrets? When I tried it seemed like I did it
2. Does the passive reduce tower shot damage? Because the skill description specifically says it does not effect structures.
3. What happens if the target of your ult dies before your ult runs out?
I've tested every build on poppy, and as a support this is the best. Going full support like majority of supports causes a lack of presence. It's up to the player as to whether he wants to buy sightstone for example, I'm happy with buying the odd ward when I have the gold, and telling my team to help me ward the map (which they should).
You can argue that this is more or less a Top poppy build, and thus not technically a true support, but in this current meta... more and more people are picking champions they can carry with. Since this build is soloQ orientated, picking a typical support makes you dependant on your team more or so less than with Annie, Fiddle, Morgana or Poppy support.
Building tank poppy isn't worth the while, your passive becomes less effective, and ultimately since Poppy is a hyper carry, you lose what she is good at. It's far more effective splashing out damage with the gold you get from assists, drakes, or kills in lane, and towards late you can just pressure a lane and force a late game so you become more useful (not that you're useless at this point, but a late game poppy = dead carries for enemy).
It's your job as poppy support to shut-down their carry, if you see an enemy support 1v1ing your carry, it's going to be a tough game. I don't necessarily steal kills or cs from my AD... I'm just a hyper carry, playing a support role, building damage taking farm where possible and necessarily. The point of running Botrk is that it is actually really effective for poppy, alongside hydra combo -- makes you have great life-steal, wave clearance, damage, and chase capabilities to shut-down their carry.
You made a good point that this particular guide only works because I am good with poppy, but again, this guide does and will take practice and experience and once played right -- I'm sure you can carry games as support pretty hard. I've played many games with bad AD's, infact the majority of AD's I've had...have been below par... arguably it can be said it's because they have a poppy support, but 9/10 my ad is fed because of me, and we win bot.
I'll also like to add that ganks are pretty hard for the enemy. Since I have ultimate, and great sustain - I can either push their jungler away, or stun them...or even stun their CC'r so my AD can escape. Furthermore, speaking of ganks, it's so easy now to tower-dive effectively with Poppy.
This guide inherits a solid early game, and progressing mid, and a hyper carry late. However, thanks for the response -- I still need to fix up the itemizations and relieve some errors. But I'll like to note that this is a Poppy, playing a support role, so it is Poppy support. Just because I'm not building typical support items doesn't mean I'm not a support ; I still ward, I still don't steal cs, and I protect my carry at all times where necessary.
If you're planning on playing a more tanky role as Poppy, you could try Randuins and Mikaels Crucible, which are items I've sometimes built in specific games. My build is more or less one I recommend and mostly use, but it is up to the player on what he decides is best in his game; league of legends is built on variables and not every guide's recommended items will work in certain games.
Also, big thanks for the comment on my hecarim guide, and thanks for commenting.
Thanks,
Xiaowiriamu
*edit: you also win because you are a good player, and maybe the Ad carries with you are good too, but a few people who see this build are diamonds or maybe could play with your build, the other will have some problems, i don't put the -1 because i want try it (maybe more as a tank)
Let's see... For starters:
Only problem with Support
Annnnd lastly, mention
I think thats really all I needed to say. +1
Edit: See I did forget something. Talk about the passive skill too. It just helps people out since this IS a guide :D
