I am fairly certain that we all have seen Kayle be played in multiple areas of the map. She can excel in any role (except ADC), and come out easily on top in any situation. If I remeber correctly, Kayle was initially made to be a support, until she one day saw taking up mid in an LCS game. Since then, players have come to realize that her kit allows her to be extremely flexible with where you play her. Good AOE, good range, a decent heal, a movement speed boost, a slow, and a 3 second invulnerability make her that one champ that is a jack of all trades.

But lets look at Lulu for a bit. We all know that she was made to be a support, and she was stuck in that role for a long time until one day she is given the opportunity to go mid in a European LCS game somewhere near the start of the spring split. Since then, people are realizing that she can excel in any role you put her in, even ADC! There is even a guide here on MOBAfire that has a JUNGLE Lulu build. Why is this? She has a slow, a movement speed boost, a shield, a reveal, a health boost, and a form of crowd control that is unique to only her: polymorph. Being a combination of a silence and a blind, this keeps the target from using abilities or auto attacking, but still allowing them to move.

Sound familiar? Lulu is seeing something very similar that Kayle saw a few seasons ago, except Lulu has the potential to go even further, due to her ability to build attack damage and be useful (although, I think Kayle can build attack damage as well). Anyone agree with me?
Thank you to Emikadon for this sig!

Absolutely not. Kayle deals a **** ton of damage and has a little bit of really good utility. Lulu does pretty mediocre damage, and has a bit more OK utility.

I do not see how these two champions are identical when they clearly perform different tasks during a game

Yeah, Lulu and Kayle, like most other champions in LoL are nearly completely different.
Not that it stopped literally everyone from playing/banning Lulu for a couple of weeks on end, because OP.

Basically MOBAFire.

Yeah, no. Kayle fails utterly in bot lane, and isn't really considered a meta pick in top or jungle. She's not much of a jill-of-all-trades because she has little defensive capability, and even less so when you consider the fact that CC is her worst enemy. She is one of the squishier APCs since she has little mobility, no hard CC, and has to rely on continuous fighting to achieve what other mages would accomplish in a single burst rotation, but she will start snowballing her team hard if you don't take her out immediately in a team-fight.

Lulu doesn't even come close to that.

I think we're all talking at cross purposes. Yes, you're right, Electro, Lulu is like Kayle in that people are experimenting with her in many different lanes. They are also similar in that they can be built AP, AD, or on-hit reasonably successfully (at least in normal and low-elo games). However, obviously, their roles in team fights are different. Kayle can in general dish out more sustained damage, but Lulu's kit is built more around her hard crowd control.

Think so too. I can see the point of the author, but still they are completely different.
