Also, Khazem didn't pick Hecarim for someone else's benefit, he has always played unconventional laners and i'm 90% sure he first picked hecarim with the intention of going top either way.

I agree the 1 on 1 comm can make the two less focused about the map, but it can still benefit the lower elo player even if it might hurt the higher elo player

It's EUW.

I don't remember ever seeing masterer play, but Latest Legend (Silver II) has played a few times.

But yeah that's the main problem, and there's really not a solution to it tbh. Even in fair match-ups (at least regarding bot lane) people get permacamped, and the balancing was useless.

I played like 2 complete inhouses, i don't remember if you took part in them though.
I don't really play much because having 1 win(where i got carried) in 4 games isn't really fun.
I AM NOT AFFECTED BY ELOHELL. NOOBS AND TROLLS NEVER RUIN MY RANKED GAMES.
I DON'T GET STUCK AND I NEVER GET ONLY 2LP FOR A WIN.

I AM UNRANKED.

All these suggestions for helping less skilled players by offering real-time and post-game advice sounds exactly like the Platinum vs Silver games hosted on EU and NA. In my experience, this kind of practice isn't helpful beyond the laning phase due to snowballing, and is really best done as 1v1 or 2v2, not as an entire 5v5 match.

On another note, I tried playing my first inhouse (NA) last week, and it was...not enjoyable. I think it took an hour to even get a game started. Is this typical?

Heh, maybe I should start playing again to provide an extra lowbie for matchmaking. Although, I believe that towards the end of me playing I was having to lane top more often than anything else. As in, the lane which I have zilch experience or enjoyment in. Then, even when I was in my comfort zone I always placed too much pressure on myself, making me play very poorly, but that's my problem (strictly speaking, there's no reason I shouldn't have been able to hold up when I was matched against gold players in mid, happens often enough in normals, but, eh, stress).

I don't think the balancing issue can really be fixed, though. I think making sure the lower MMR players have something learnt to take away from what otherwise might have been a rather painful game is most important and feasible. I know I certainly enjoyed the critique when I actually got it, my fondest inhouse memories are from the games where that happened (and that one Ori game I actually felt like I had an impact in).

Issues arise quite commonly, but very rarely to that degree. You kinda just saw it on a pretty bad day :P
Games on North America have been a bit of a struggle to get going, mostly because people still get confused about the timezones but it's something that has been slowly getting better as interest is starting to grow a little again.

We're not doing it like that and if I were to give the advice I wouldn't exactly go "Now I'm buying a mejai coz you're a moron and I'm snowballing on you". I've done this before, and I never get the kills until they go "ok now show me how you'd normaly play", although I always inform them that and how I could kill them before.

Or unless enemy jungler ganks too much.

I don't mind "ruining" my games if someone is benefitting with experience and knowledge of how to improve their lane phase, and at the end/during the rest of the game others can teach more about teamfighting and objective control. Like I said elsewhere, EUW inhouses have not stopped but it's always the same ~13 people, which means they are not bringing new people either way. Saying "we're all over gold elo so lower elos will probably feel useless" isn't the attitude we're looking for if we're trying to get new players. If we're not trying to get new players, my apologies.

ARE we trying to get new players? We already have enough people to keep the inhouses full most of the time, I don't see why we would need new people.

What if we made (at least) one game per inhouse where the opposing laners go in a seperate call so that the higher elo player gives some tips to the lower elo player (or both players give each other tips when the skill difference isn't significant)?
Thanks to IPodPulse for this <3^

As I said, a lot of players don't communicate that much on EUW, had a lot of games in which we had only 2 people who were communicating anything. I doubt if we'd get enough people to do that.

And again, I doubt the effectiveness of this as well, I'd be up to try though.

I assume Mobafire enjoys the prospect of expanding to new players
