Remember when everyone thought Riot wasn't releasing champions fast enough?

tbh only people that knew nothing about Egyptian gods wouldnt have called a Ra champion to go with the Anubis and Sobek champions
also i dont like him, it sucks that the sand mage is going to be more of a "summon things to fight for you" mage, which is lame because sand mages are fun for me ): just like time mages but zilean doesnt fit it for me either

people have been saying that ever since morello talked about making a sand mage oh so long ago
im pretty sure people talked about more Egyptian gods once Nasus/Shuruma was a thing
but still he doesnt look like a sand mage but more of a summon minions out of sand mage

His Passive is pretty interesting I will give them that however
His Q is basically just like Syndra
His W resembles Zed shadows
His E is just like Jarvan IV
His R is the same as Anivia
And on the subject of his W...why are they giving him an ability that makes him go from Long range to Close range with the aid of "soldier"?
This personally is a wasted ability slot that could have used for something better like exploding the soldiers and causing damage or something
I am intrigued to see how this champion actually works but so far from his abilities he just seems overly rushed with no real thought behind him

This comment kind of seems overly rushed with no real thought put into it.
His Q is nothing like Syndra's. His requires his minions and slows people. Her's just does damage.
Zed Shadows are stationary and do not auto attack. The only real similarity is that they are summoned and untargetable.
His E ends on collision, unlike Jarvan's EQ, and also provides a shield. Only similarity being the dash and knock up.
The R is a combination of a few moves, but yea it is kind of like Anivia's wall. if Anivia's wall also did damage, come out from her and knocked people back.
As for the E putting him in melee range, his shield scales with bonus health and he is rewarded for building CDR, meaning a tanky AP setup is likely intended.

I don't mean to bash on Riot, but it's kinda annoying that they're coming out with so many new champions... Like, there's so many other things they could be spending their time on, especially considering Gnar was literally just released 3 weeks ago. Stuff like new items would spice up the variety exponentially more than new champions.
Plus, reworks of old champions are long overdue *coughsionandurgotcough*
Feel the same, and I imagine they're only pushing him because of e$ports. Both Gnar and Azir are really heavy on mechanics, so they're going to supposedly be popular in the high-skill tiers, and they've already buffed the former to make him more popular.
He is seriously going to mess up mid/top-lane with his passive Disc of the Sun. He'll have massive control over the wave, and be able to create his own territory of safety even if you were take the previous one down. Imagine him getting ahead... It'll be hell for the jungler to take him down since he just made himself a turret out your rubbly, broken one.
I hope there are decent rewards for taking that thing down, and that it's squishy, and that it's on a high CD...
