I'd agree aside from Hearthstone, because I know for a fact that Hearthstone was never conceived for such a reason.
It's entirely possible they increased the project funding for that reason though.
But honestly, going after popular genres isn't a bad thing. The quality of the games is what matters the most. And so far Blizzard's games have been mostly good.

Indeed. I'm happy to buy games from Blizzard because a majority of their games have been incredibly good. If it was a company such as EA that started trying to get into the popular genres (which they have), then I would be a lot less optimistic. Blizzard's games only serve to improve the genre as well as make money.

Weeeell, I wouldn't go that far.
There have been bad games, overrated games and games that don't stand the test of time.
In general though, I think that their games have been good.

Let's face it. It needed to happen.
"Blizzard spoke thus; Thou shalt not BM. And the players replied Nay, I shall Play my hand with Lethal already on the board. And so Blizzard sent unto them this Brawl of Yogg, As a lesson for their sins of Pride and Greed, for he is the Prophet of Madness and RNG. On that day, the tavern descended into an era of chaos and darkness, until the weekend passed and everyone forgot all about it. Amen. Book of SMOrc, Verse 20, Chapter 4." - Feam T
