Sooo, I've recently been reading quite a bit of Girls of the Wild's. I blazed through 100chapters in just a few days.
Not quite sure how I found it, but boy am I glad I did. I've had a ton of fun with this one.

In short, it's a shounen revolving around a boy going to an all-girls sports school with a focus on martial arts.

I initially thought that it would be a harem, but then they turned that on its head.
This series actually turns a lot of stereotypical scenes and concepts on their head. And just I love it.
I mean, christ, it even features a classical spilling-liquid-on-pants-then-uncomfortable-rubbingtime, but this one being boy-on-boy.

It's also really silly in its serious moments. Like, really silly, to the extent where it has to be done on purpose, because the authors tendency to introduce silly situations is just too much to be a coincidence.
Needless to say it results in some pretty funny moments. Ironic humor is the best.

It also has some serious tones with self-victimizing and the standard standing-up-for-yourself deal. These are a mixed bag, some parts are done well, others less so, but overall it's done decently at least.

The art is pretty great. Think Tower of God, but better.

All in all I had a ton of fun with it. I don't think everyone is gonna like it as much as I did, but I do consider it good and definitely worth a look if you're into humor, because that's probably the main reason to read it.

I read it on the official site. One thing to note is that the translations are kind of... lackluster.. There might be other translations to find, but I like to support the official source by reading it there:

Now I finally know where this comes from. How many people use this as an avatar? Sheez.

Could you give an estimation of where things are turned on its head? The 12 chapters so far are pretty good, thanks for sharing!
I can't stand reading comics from left to right though :S

Not sure I've seen that avatar before. Where have you seen it?

I think it turns around quite a bit into it.

I read lots of comics from all kinds of countries. I'm used to switching around now, I just start reading and automatically go the way things seem to play out. I do get confused sometimes, but it's not a big deal.

Left to right should be the standard though honestly, seeing as text is written in that fashion.

Oh, totally. Except for languages that are read right to left. Like, generally, Japanese. Or Arabic. I'm sure there are others, but I don't know them off the top of my head.

YEAHHHH Girl's the Wild's hype!

Seriously though it's an extremely enjoyable korean manhwa. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a manga / manhwa to read.

Japanese isn't read from right to left :O

It's from left to right. Traditionally it was read top to bottom with columns from right to left (unless that's what you meant)

I'm aware of the distinction, but it still serves to explain why Japanese-originating comics favor the right-to-left approach. Moving between panels from left to right wouldn't make sense while reading the things inside speech bubbles and text boxes from right to left (generally).

Of course, this is complicated by the Japanese language also being written left-to-right sometimes. But it's unlikely that manga panel orientation is going to change, simply because changing it would cause confusion for no real gain.
