That's wrong. The idea of national identity doesn't support the idea of racism because racism is clarified by the idea of the existance of human races. All the other kinds of harrassment you're relating to are discriminations and xenophobia. A religion or culture can equal a race if you're a racist but a national identity isn't supposed to be such thing.

You did not understand me. National identity involves race in the sense that for instance a coloured person cannot be called German/British, according to nationalism.

But you would rather relate to the skin colour then instead of the nation the person comes from. You said it the wrong way then, too because you've said the idea of national identity includes racism but it's apparently not part of the idea rather than a kind of ideology and awful thinking. Nationalism doesn't always include racism.

Well maybe you guys should look for definition of the terms nationalism, racism, race, culutre, patriotism etc.
And then start to discuss lol.

But I don't quite get what you are trying to point out with national identy involving race and therefore a coloured person cannot be called German or British.

As I understand national identity more as identifying yourself with the country you are living in which is quite modern so to say.

Nationalism itself in a simpler way just means that people living in a country identify themselves with the country and working towards the same ideas/goals etc.
To make an example that is not WW2 and Nazis (which would make a bad example for this) would be the french Revolution or the american independence stuff.

And finally, stuff with -ism are mostly extreme, so keep that in mind.

Why should I define race? The idea of human races isn't needed imo

You are actually confusing nationalism with patriotism. And yeah normally a coloured person should be called British, German or whatever but not according to (some types of) nationalism.

This might be cause I took the german definition of nationalism.
Looked up on the internet it still means the same as I said:
Quoted:
: a desire by a large group of people (such as people who share the same culture, history, language, etc.) to form a separate and independent nation of their own

While patriotism is refered as:
Quoted:
love for or devotion to one's country

It also says:

Quoted:
a feeling that people have of being loyal to and proud of their country often with the belief that it is better and more important than other countries

which is what I am referring to.

That doesn't exclude any coloured people in the goup of people feeling proud of their country?
But then again, that definition fits patriotism more, tho.

And about defining race, you are hypocrites if you try to argue about this topic without taking this little term into consideration.
Everything could be oh so wonderful, everyone living in peace with each other, regardless of their skin colour/ country they are living in.
Even if the majority broadly accepts that 'race' does not exist as humans are all the same, take a definition that was relevant decades or maybe only years ago as it is still a problem, otherwise we wouldn't have the problems with racism.

But oh hey, the article OP linked was more about the demonstration of a group in Dresden, rather than the political standpoint on this topic.

No, it does not, directly. But that feeling of superiority that comes with nationalism does and results in such cases.
