Hello everyone and welcome to ToplaneProfessor's guide for nasus.Ive been playing toplane from season 2 reached challenger on s6 and s7 maining toplane as i peaked at rank 9 on eune, rank 12 on west.Hope you guys enjoy reading my guide on nasus sience he is prety meta now and very fun after you reach mid-late game when you can 1v9 games.

Passive : Soul Eater

Nasus drains his foe's spiritual energy, giving him bonus Life Steal.This passive is insane as it helps you survive the laning phase the life steal is from 10-20%.

Q : Siphoning Strike

This is your bread and butter ability it has prety low base dmg (scaling with 100% of your ad) but here is the thing that makes it insane Siphoning Strike permanently gains 3 damage if it kills an enemy. This bonus is doubled against Champions, large minions and large monsters also it is an auto attack reset.Always maxxed first.

W : Wither

Nasus slows a targeted enemy for an insane amount starting from 35% and then it progressively increases up to 95% when maxed(5 sec duration) it also reduces the targets attack speed for half the percentage of the slow (aka if your target is slowed for 60% his attack speed drops for 30%).You max it second 80% of times.

E : Spirit Fire

Nasus unleashes a spirit flame at the target location, dealing magic damage to enemies in the area.The dmg is prety low but it is good for wave clear,the flame then remains for 5 seconds, dealing magic damage each second to all enemies within and reducing their armor while they remain, casting for 1 second.This ability should not be used for poke as it requires alot of mana.

R :Fury of the Sands

Nasus gains increased Health, Attack Range, damages nearby enemies, has a reduced cooldown on Siphoning Strike, and gains bonus Armor and Magic Resistance for a 15 sec duration.This ability is insane sience it reduces your q cd for 50% making you able to use it every 1.2 secs (with max crd).*WARNING* if you have already used your q and then ult you must wait the normal cooldown of your q after that every q will have reduced cooldown

Summoner Spells

Like almost every other champion your main spell should be flash.Flash helps nasus stick on the enemy backline even when he gets peeled also it helps you survive ganks and generally early game a.k.a nasus biggest disadvantage.For your secondary spell we have quite a bit of options for nasus mainly on your ranked games you should be running teleport as it helps with returning back to lane for more stacks and participating in objectives around botlane or even counter ganking.Other effective options are ghost that helps you run the enemy laner down or exhaust against all in champions like riven.

Runes

Nothing special on runes here grasp for more dmg health and susntain,unflinching for tenacity,conditioning for the lategame, second wind for sustain,celestial body becase you look to avoid fighting early anyway so it helps you start with that sweet almost 900hp lvl 1,magical footwear for that free 300 gold worth of boots.

Starting items

90% of the games you want to buy dorans shield and a potion,that helps you survive the lane.other options are cloth armor against heavy ad matchups and corrution pot.

Core items

For core items you have 2 choices trinity force + glory or iceborn + glory.Most of the normie nasus players will go for trinity , but my personal favorite (hidden op) is iceborn cause it gives cdr like trinity armor and makes you unkitable if you can apply atleast one q on an enemy cause of the aoe slow it provides.Glory is a no brainer here you get it every game it helps you with chasing,engaging and it synergises perfectly with iceborn gauntlet as it helps you hit a q on an enemy aplying aoe slow on them + your w wither it creates a slow that is impossible to escape from.

Boots

For boots you want to take mercs 90% of times they just work well even against ad champion as they offer you more tenacity that is really important to nasus.Buy ninja's tabi vs heavy autoattack champions only.

These are the most effective defensive items on nasus pick a combination that suits your game more.

Goal

As nasus what you are trying to accive is to maximise your utility :
1) Survive the lane keeping up in cs vs your laner and stacking your q as much as possible
2) build tank stack as much as possible and run them down

Early game - Lane

This part is the one that will test your nerves, more times than not if you can keep up with the enemy laner the game becames 7v5 as you get rly strong

TIPS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE EARLY GAME:
1) stay as safe as possible it doesnt matter if you lose some minions or stacks for now.
2) say to your jungler not to come top often cause you do not have the dmg just yet exept if it's a good call.
3) try not to tilt

MID-LATE

If you survived the early game you are already doing prety good job now you aim to farm as much as possible and stack with q.A good milestone to have is 300 stacks for the first 20 mins and then 750-1k until 40-45 mins.
