What role do you play maokai in normaly

I don't play anymore personally, but I'd say his best role is top lane. Some people play him as support and occasionally jungle, but top is probably his strongest role.

This build has won my follow and commendation. I have only one concern personally and that is why not more ap? Other than that its absolutely beautiful. Please keep up the good work ill be looking forward to more of your builds!

I really just never like to build AP on . I feel your job is to just be the frontline, engage and protector for your team while your team dishes out the damage. Sure some AP items with health for example can work on but I've always just preferred to build full tank and watch the enemy team waste a ton of resources in taking me down. Thank you! To be honest you don't need to build damage items on . Somehow he always ends up dealing loads of damage in a 30+ minute game, last time I played him I dealt like 34k damage with a full tank build :D

Thank you! If you are playing support then obviously you have to get the support item, which most of time time would be into either Eye of the Equinox or Face of the Mountain. Otherwise I would probably do the same stuff, getting tabis and could help you snag those couple kills on bot lane easily if you get your jungler to come and just engage on the opponents.

Hey bro, nice guide and all but, there's some things I would change. I am a diamond main with a lot of games (and i mean a lot, 363 to be precise). Firstly, I would take for the keystone rune, just because you don't have many good opportunities to trigger your , in order to do that, you would have to use mana in order to get close (with your ) and then you would have to basic attack them. brings so much resistance and more damage into laning phase. Items are okay, everything else is okay but generally could be way prettier, you can take a look at my guide, just to get a concept, it's in my thought well done.
Also, secondary tree is sorcery, but I would honestly pick inspiration. It's actually so good if you go for the and the boot thingy, i forgot its name. Idk about your picks, but mine have proven alright in many ways.

Hey and thanks for the long and informative comment! The guide is still definitely work in progress, I haven't gotten around playing that many games yet this pre-season so I haven't really tested multiple different setups yet but really seems like a solid choice. I guess I just instinctively chose since it seems to be a good choice for tanks as well.

And yeah I still got a lot of work to do to make my guides more appealing and better looking. I already got some ideas but I just need more time to make them work well. Thanks for the concept and I'll keep some things in mind for the future updates!

Yeah Maokai is definitely a strong top laner, especially a teamfight monster. And yeah most Maokai's items and ability sequences are quite generic but there is still more stuff to cover once I get around to writing all of it :)
