Grasp of the Undying allows you to heal a bit back in trades, and over the course of the game the rune will stack up a quite nice amount of HP, though late game it's pretty meh.
Aftershock gives Sylas tankiness he needs to initiate fights and disrupt the opposing team while your team follows up. You'll get a pretty reliable proc with Abscond / Abduct and I'm still on the fence do I like Grasp of the Undying or Aftershock more but I'll have to play more of Sylas to make that decision. It's also matchup dependent. If you are vs a ranged champ which you'll not fight that often in lane, Aftershock is the better choice since you won't get much value out of Grasp of the Undying.
I'll be adding a lot of stuff on this guide once Sylas is actually released and I get to play a bit more of him as playing on the PBE with high ping doesn't really show me his full potential. I'll be doing synergies, and I'll probably today start doing the ult interactions.
