Never played adc Karthus before and I was hoping to possibly try it during the preseason at least once, but I was wondering if it's still viable right now?

I was also curious as to why no Zhonya's Hourglass? I suppose that the stasis effect doesn't seem to make any sense to take with Karthus but I think the mix of AP and Armor are really useful for the bot lane. Is there another armor providing item you could/should take instead?

As a Karthus jungle player, I think that this guide is pretty well made. Are there any other bot lane combos (other than mages) that one should watch out for? Also, who is a good ban?
