Its perfectly fine to have an opinion The All Tomato. However, Downvoting because you disagree with a play style seems a bit flawed to me. I made this guide to show players an alternative way to play Nami. I understand to each their own, but just because Nami is a very good "Utility Mage" as you put it, does not mean building her Tank is flawed. League of Legends is a game with thousands of different situations and build styles. I appreciate your comment, and explanation for the downvote, however the reasons you downvoted were all based off of your personal opinion. That is like me downvoting a shaco build because I am not fond of the champion. Doesn't make much sense.
Again, i do appreciate the feedback, but next time think about the build as a build, not as how you would play the champion.

Hmm you raise an interesting point, so let me defend my position. First of all, your analogy of "downvoting a Shaco build because I am not fond of the champion" is a flat out wrong comparison. I'm not downvoting a because the champion (I love Nami, in case my icon didn't tip you off). My vote isn't based on opinion. It is based on experience and fact. I used to build Nami as a tank, with Rod of Ages as part of my core build. It worked, but it wasn't optimal, so I learned, adapted my playstyle, and moved on. I am now a more effective Nami player.

I downvoted because this is not a guide I would want new Nami players to learn from. No where in the guide did you present your build as 'alternative' or 'niche'. It's presented as a general guide. Of course, players will encounter thousands of scenarios. Some situations will call for defensive items over AP or offensive utility items. However, it is sub-optimal to approach every game the same way, and you've created a guide that presents a situational build as a default build. General guides should be well-rounded, and teach readers how to build for different situations.

You dismiss my criticisms as "opinion", so here's a fact for you: With allies present, Nami's abilities are as effective from 875 range as they are at 200. Tidecaller's Blessing and Ebb and Flow can be used on allies, so during mid and late game team fights, Nami rarely has to be closer to an enemy than the range of Aqua Prison. If this is the case, why would you build by default to have less utility, and less ability power? All these defensive stats are a waste if you aren't getting hit.

If you find yourself getting focused, by all means, build tanky to thwart the enemy team. However, if you are positioning properly in the back lines, it should already be extremely difficult for the enemy team to focus you without severe consequence.

If you want to play a frontline support, what's wrong with Braum, Leona, or Thresh? Why try to make Nami do what they do, when they can do it better?

Downvoted, for the following reasons:

  • You called her "the Tidecaster". -_-
  • I disagree with your assessment of the support role. Supports make big plays too, as much as any other role. How did that Draven get to be 20/0 in the first place? Hopefully because you carried his weak early-game ***. During laning, not only should you keep your carry alive, but you should actively work to threaten and deny your opponents.
  • The very basis of this guide, building Nami as a tank, is flawed. Her main playstyle, utility mage, is more effective and a more efficient use of gold. It sounds like you need to work on your positioning and your use of Tidecaller's Blessing (give this to your Marksman or frontliners in teamfights, not yourself). I'm not saying she should be built glass cannon.
  • You recommend AP glyphs on a champion with low ratios that you're going to build as a tank anyways. Clearly you need to give this more thought. If you aren't going to take defensive glyphs, take mana regen or CDR, since your items don't include much. You've listed the best options for runes as alternate...
  • Your guide needs more information. I think others have mentioned this so I'm not going to go into detail.

If you want to land more bubbles in team fights running something like Talisman of Ascension-locket or Talisman-Frozen heart gives you enough CDR to see a difference. Also maxing Q 1st or 2nd reduces the CDR quicker as well.

I should downvote for the guide's name... No one wants to remember that.
Also, seriously False... Ion Solari? xD
"Completely selfish item for tank AP supports Zhonya's Hourglass"

There is always the choice to begin with Ancient Coin.
Frozen Heart should be added for the alternate items on the cheatsheet already.
Also, look at your runes, then at your alternate runes, then at the blue one. Notice anything wrong? :)

I like it, but change the Sunfire Aegis is passive will be useless on Nami.

Seems pretty good to me, just two things:

1. As Vynertje said, Greater Seal of Health + Greater Quintessence of Armor will give you better stats on health and armor than the setup you currently show.
2. Missing very important things on a guide, which are: gameplay section (warding) and matchups section.

The technical stuff looks good.
