THE CRIT ADC GUIDE – ABSOLUTE DAMAGE THROUGH PRECISION
Welcome to your go-to guide for Season 25's strongest Crit ADC path. This isn't your average "auto-attack and hope for the best" guide. This is the art of precision – sustained damage, powerful scaling, intelligent positioning, and correct decision-making. Whether you’re climbing ranked or dominating normals, this guide will give you the blueprint to become the hypercarry your team needs.
Why This Build?
This specific item and rune setup is designed to give you:
- Massive late-game crit scaling
- Early sustain and lane safety
- High single-target burst potential
- Strong kiting with bonus movement speed
- Consistent healing for survivability in extended fights
- Excellent DPS against both squishy and tanky targets
Every item and rune choice has a purpose — and we’ll go over them in depth.
Summoner Spells
Flash + Barrier – Flash is non-negotiable; it's your primary defensive tool. Barrier synergizes well with Fleet Footwork and Bloodline, giving you a second wind in burst-heavy trades or dive scenarios. Heal can be baited or reduced by Grievous Wounds, but Barrier is instant, hard to punish, and fits better with this guide's sustain-based playstyle.
Rune Page Breakdown
Primary: Precision
- Fleet Footwork: The best keystone for lane survival, sustain, and scaling movement speed. Works wonders in extended trades and kiting.
- Presence of Mind: Your mana pool is your lifeline, especially early. This helps you spam abilities and keeps your uptime high during fights.
- Legend: Bloodline: Lifesteal scales beautifully with your build. With Bloodthirster later, you become extremely hard to kill.
- Coup de Grace: Helps you clean up low-health enemies and adds extra damage at the perfect moment in teamfights.
Secondary: Sorcery
- Celerity: All movement speed buffs (from items and runes) get stronger, which helps you reposition, kite, and chase. Perfect synergy.
- Gathering Storm: This rune is made for ADCs who scale. Combine this with IE and Bloodthirster for explosive late-game damage.
Stat Shards:
- Attack Speed – needed for fluid auto-attacks and weaving abilities.
- Adaptive Force – more damage for trades and scaling.
- Bonus Health – helps survive burst trades early and smooths out your scaling path.
Itemization Strategy
This item path focuses on building your crit safely and scaling as fast as possible while keeping your sustain and movement sharp.
1. Swiftmarch – This is your starting support item replacement. Provides early lane gold and allows you to ramp up passively if you're playing safe into bad matchups.
2. The Collector – First core damage item. Gives lethality for early kills, crit chance, and executes targets. Combined with Coup de Grace, it's lethal in skirmishes.
3. Infinity Edge – Once you have 2 crit items, IE becomes insane. Doubles your damage output and makes each auto meaningful. This is your primary power spike.
4. Rapid Firecannon – Increases your threat range. A long-range crit poke allows you to poke before fully committing, which helps in safe DPSing during teamfights.
5. Lord Dominik’s Regards – Necessary if the enemy builds armor or runs multiple tanks. Shreds their frontline and keeps you relevant even into beefy comps.
6. Bloodthirster – The final sustain and survivability tool. With Bloodline, Fleet, and this, you're lifestealing like a vampire and surviving assassins and skirmishes alike.
Optional:
- Mortal Reminder – vs. heavy healing comps.
- Guardian Angel – if you're being dived repeatedly.
- Phantom Dancer – if you want extra movement and dueling power.
Abilities and Skill Order
Since this guide is general-purpose for multiple crit ADCs (e.g. Jhin, Sivir, Tristana, or Kai’Sa hybrid crit), your skill order may vary. But here's a flexible pattern for most:

Laning Phase Strategy
The laning phase as a crit ADC is all about efficient farming, safe trading, and scaling without falling behind. Here's how to navigate it effectively:
Level 1-2:
Play safe unless your support has strong engage or poke. Fleet Footwork allows you to trade with sustain, but your damage spikes later. Focus on last-hitting and positioning well to avoid unnecessary poke. Use your bonus movement speed to reposition after each auto-attack and keep yourself unpredictable.
Wave Management:
Try to slow-push into tower when you have the advantage. Otherwise, keep waves centered or slightly closer to your side of the lane to avoid jungle ganks. Remember: the longer you can stay in lane without dying, the closer you get to your crucial item spikes.
Trading Tips:
Recall Timing:
First base should aim to get a Noonquiver or Serrated Dirk depending on build path, plus extra pots and a Control Ward. Avoid dying with 1300g+ in your pocket; you miss a big tempo swing.
Mid Game Strategy
Once you’ve completed 2 items, you’re online. This is where map awareness and positioning matter most.
Roaming/Rotations:
You’re no longer tied to botlane. After securing bot tower, rotate mid or top to apply pressure and take objectives. Always push side waves before grouping to maximize gold and EXP.
Teamfighting:
You’re the artillery. Stay back, kite, and deal as much consistent DPS as possible without getting caught. Never frontline — that's the tank's job.
Dragon & Baron Priority:
Always be present. Your DPS melts these objectives. If your team peels well, you can solo Baron at full build with lifesteal and crits.
Late Game Scaling
At this point, your build is near completion. This is when Gathering Storm kicks in and crits start hitting 800–1200 per auto. However, the game becomes extremely volatile.
One misstep = death. Always have a Control Ward and keep yourself protected. Stick with the team, maintain good spacing, and make your presence felt in teamfights.
Things to remember:
Power Spikes
Here’s a timeline of your major spikes:
1 item: Collector or Noonquiver + boots = slight damage boost
2 items: Collector + IE = massive spike, crits become deadly
3 items: IE + RFC = long-range crit threat
4+ items: LDR & BT = front-to-back teamfight beast
6 items: You're a raid boss with self-healing, high DPS, and lethal poke.

Trading Tips:
- Weave autos and spells between minions; avoid standing still.
- Look for trades when Fleet is ready.
- Use Rapid Firecannon (later) for safe poke once it's completed.
- Zone enemies with the threat of Collector + crit burst.

- Use your extra range from Rapid Firecannon to poke before committing.
- Identify and focus squishy threats if possible (mages, enemy ADCs).
- When tanks are the only target, apply Lord Dominik's shred efficiently.
- Use Barrier preemptively when diving or when enemy assassins commit.

Things to remember:
- Never use Flash aggressively unless it's a guaranteed game-ending play.
- Always kite backwards; abuse Fleet + Bloodthirster sustain.
- Ultimates should be used wisely – either to open a fight or to finish fleeing enemies.
- Position in brush during sieges for surprise Rapid Fire poke.

Matchups and Synergies
Best Supports:
- Pyke: Pyke will just do half the job getting you the kills.
- Lulu: Buffs your auto-attacks, gives peel, and enables hypercarry mode.
- Nami: Extra damage, CC, and sustain. Perfect lane partner.
- Milio: Bonus range and movement = perfect synergy with Celerity.
- Thresh: Engages and saves you from overextending.
Bad Supports:
- Yuumi: Lacks lane pressure early, and you’re not yet self-sufficient.
- Senna: Similar role = overlapping scaling, weak early lane.
- Zilean: Great utility, but no early pressure to help you survive poke lanes.
Tough Matchups:
- Draven – strong early burst, hard to match damage
- Lucian/Nami – oppressive early poke
- Samira – all-ins can overwhelm you without peel

Advanced Positioning & Gameplay Awareness
Being a crit ADC means you live or die by positioning. Your damage is unmatched, but your defenses are minimal. That’s why every fight is a chess match — you win by never being caught.
Positioning Rules:
Brush Play:
In late-game sieges or jungle skirmishes, try to “camp” brush with Rapid Firecannon fully charged. You can land a devastating first shot on a squishy without being exposed. This is especially lethal with Collector + IE + RFC. If they face-check? They evaporate.
Auto-spacing:
Weaving movement between autos is essential. Don’t stand still. You’re a marksman, not a turret. Move with every shot. Use Fleet Footwork + Bloodthirster to outlast poke and recover between trades.
Summoner Spell Usage
Flash: Reserved for escapes or clutch repositioning in chaotic teamfights. Never Flash forward unless:
Barrier: This spell shines when facing assassins or burst-heavy champions like Zed, Kha'Zix, Evelynn, or Syndra. Activate it early, not reactively, to buffer incoming combos. Barrier can turn an all-in completely in your favor if timed correctly with lifesteal and crits.
Map Awareness & Decision Making
Great ADCs don’t just farm well — they move well.

Full Build Breakdown & Why It Works
Swiftmarch: You scale with movement speed and trades. This mythic accelerates everything you need — early sustain, chase potential, and laning power.
The Collector: Early lethality + crit. Helps you secure kills, especially when snowballing or playing against squishy supports or low-armor targets.
Infinity Edge: The game-changing spike. This gives you access to full crit burst. Every hit can now chunk for 50% or more of a squishy’s HP.
Rapid Firecannon: Safest poke tool. Extra range, bonus damage, and allows you to threaten from outside most engage ranges.
Lord Dominik's Regards: Crucial when enemy tanks stack armor. Even against bruisers or juggernauts like Darius, Sett, or Olaf — this lets you melt them faster.
Bloodthirster: Lifeline. Once completed, you become self-sustaining in fights. Lifesteal + Shield lets you recover from poke and kite frontline threats without needing peel every second.
Mindset & Mistakes to Avoid
Closing Thoughts
This crit ADC setup isn't just about numbers — it’s about precision. You’re a sniper, a backline reaper, and a carry machine. The synergy of Swiftmarch with Fleet Footwork, RFC, and lifesteal gives you survivability and poke while enabling massive crits.
If you play smart, maintain strong awareness, and stick to clean mechanics, this build will carry you through extended fights, outscale almost every ADC, and let you 1v9 when the game calls for it.
Precision, discipline, spacing — master those, and this build will reward you.

Positioning Rules:
- Always stand behind your frontliners.
- Use attack move (A-click) to kite without panicking.
- Stay near your support or jungler in fights.
- Do NOT face-check bushes — let supports ward for you.
- Be patient. Let the fight unfold before committing.

Summoner Spell Usage
Flash: Reserved for escapes or clutch repositioning in chaotic teamfights. Never Flash forward unless:
- The kill wins the game (e.g., final inhib or Nexus fight).
- You have total vision, your team is close, and you’ve baited key enemy spells.
When to split vs group:
- Split if no major objective is up, and you have vision.
- Group if Baron/Dragon/Enemy jungle fights are imminent.
- Only push side alone if you have both summoners and support is nearby.
Reading the Map:
- Always track enemy mid and jungle before moving into river.
- Ward over walls before face-checking — play safe.
- Ping missing and danger constantly for your team.
- Keep an eye on enemy deaths: 2+ enemies dead? Shove waves and siege.

Mindset & Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't get greedy. Sometimes, letting go of a wave or kill is what keeps you alive and scaling.
- Avoid solo-laning post-20 mins unless objectives are down and you have full vision.
- Don’t waste Rapid Fire poke. Aim it when you have follow-up. Every charged shot should pressure the enemy, not just chip a tank.
- Respect timers. If you’ve just used Flash or Barrier, play more defensively. Every cooldown matters.

Teamfighting Like a True Carry
As the game reaches the later stages, your role becomes increasingly binary — either you live and kill everyone, or you die and your team collapses. Knowing how to navigate chaotic 5v5 teamfights is the difference between a mediocre ADC and a true solo carry.

Power Spikes & When You Win Games
This build scales beautifully, but you do hit major power spikes that you should fully abuse:
1. Two-Item Spike (Collector + IE): You shred anyone under 60% HP. Look to force skirmishes with your support when you finish Infinity Edge — this is your real crit damage unlock.
2. RFC + LDR = Safe Melting: You can now pressure tanks AND backliners. This is when you start sieging with confidence. Abuse your poke range and reset quickly after each fight.
3. Full Build (With BT): You’re unstoppable. With BT's overshield, RFC poke, and Fleet lifesteal, only coordinated hard engage can bring you down. Always play with your team, ping your cooldowns, and fight on your terms.
Late Game Macro — Playing to End
In ultra late-game (35+ minutes), every death can end the game. One mistake = Nexus. Here’s how you close it out:
Remember: A full-build crit ADC is the most powerful damage dealer in the game. Play clean, stay alive, and your damage will speak for itself.
Your autos decide the outcome.

Before the fight:
- Make sure Rapid Firecannon is charged.
- Stay with your support or mid. Don’t get caught alone.
- Ping your summoner cooldowns. If Flash is down, play safer.
- Assess who on the enemy team has engage tools (e.g., Malphite R, Nautilus Q).
During the fight:
- Target the closest high-priority squishy.
- Use attack-move click to kite smoothly.
- Keep an eye on assassins flanking — move diagonally, not backward.
- Proc Fleet Footwork on first impact to sustain during extended trades.
- Use Barrier as soon as you’re targeted, not after you’re already chunked.
After the fight:
- Clean up with Rapid Fire shots on escaping targets.
- Push waves immediately if you have HP.
- Ping Baron/Dragon timers — take what’s free.
- Reset with gold and build toward any missing components.

- Stick mid or top. Always shove waves with RFC to keep pressure.
- Baron control is everything. Secure vision, push side, force enemy to respond.
- Inhibs are not game-ending — Nexus is. Don’t throw diving their fountain after one kill.
- If enemy team has waveclear, don’t A-RAM. Wait for your jungler to find an angle.
- Ping enemy Flash timers. If their engage tools are down, step up and siege.
