ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hello! Actioner here. I'm here to teach you the fundamentals for the Support role. I will surely try my best. So I've been playing League of Legends since late Season 3. I've been always a Main Support and I'm more than happy to share this passion and knowledge with you. I'm currently a high Master player with highest ever reached: Challenger Top 40(EUNE) and Master(EUW). I don't main a specific champion on Support, I can play 20+ support champs, so I always adapt to meta and what works best for me during that time. My secondary role is Mid-lane with a pretty small champion pool.Feel free to join Action Squad and follow my journey!

INTRODUCTION
WHY PLAY SMOLDER
Extremely fun to play champion, Smolder can provide all the damage a team needs on its own but only if the game reaches to super late game. Farm and don't take risks and you will be a beast later on!
|
+ Extremely Strong Late game + Good Mobility + Reposition Ability + AOE Damage |
- Very Squishy - Weak Early - Needs Gold & Stacks |
ABILITIES
ABILITIES OPTION #1

|
|
Super Scorcher Breath (Q):Smolder's Q is a point-and-click ability that inflicts damage on the target hit and applies on-hit effects. When Smolder reaches 25 stacks, this ability also deals damage in a circle around the target. At 125 stacks, it starts firing additional fireballs in a cone behind the target. Reaching 225 stacks causes enemies hit to be set on fire, taking True damage and potentially getting executed if their health drops too low. |

|
|
Achooo! (W): Smolder's W is a long-range rectangular skill shot that starts traveling fast and slows down towards the end. Enemies hit are dealt damage and slowed, and hitting an enemy champion also damages all enemies in a nearby circle. |

|
|
Flap,Flap,Flap (E): Using Smolder's E causes him to take flight, gaining a significant burst of movement speed. While in flight, he can move over terrain and starts firing bolts at nearby enemies. |

|
|
MMOOOMMMM! (R): Smold's Ultimate is a very long-range rectangular skill shot dealing damage in a wave along the ability. It grants sight of the area, and enemies hit are dealt damage. If they're in the center of the ability, they take more damage and are slowed. If Smold is hit by this ability, he's also healed. |
TIPS & TRICKS
For combos, start with an auto-attack, followed by your ultimate, another auto-attack, Q, auto-attack, W, and then auto-attack into your E. Casting your ultimate behind you accelerates the damage output for specific matchups.

GAMEPLAY
EARLY GAME - LANING PHASE
At this phase, concentrate primarily on two tasks: efficient farming and effectively accumulating your passive stacks. Your main goal should revolve around these activities, as there's little else of higher priority. Make strategic use of your Q to gather stacks, and occasionally, deploy your W to harass your opponent, securing more stacks in the process. Reserve your E for crucial moments, either to retreat safely or to pursue a potential kill. With your E on cooldown, adopting a cautious approach is imperative; your current state is relatively vulnerable. Without a significant advantage or assistance from your jungler, focus on farming. Reaching 25 stacks transforms your Q into an AOE ability, allowing you to hit multiple backline targets for efficient stacking.LATE GAME - TEAMFIGHTS
Prioritize capturing your tower early, then transition to mid-lane to begin sieging and participating in skirmishes. Despite the shift in game phase, continue emphasizing stack farming. Entering the late-game team fights with at least 225 stacks equips you with a formidable presence, akin to having a permanent Elder buff. Assume the role of a hyper-carry, skillfully weaving auto-attacks with your abilities, unleashing devastating AOE damage that can decimate opposing teams.
Advanced Smolder Tips & Tricks
Smolder is one of the strongest scaling marksmen in League of Legends, but many players miss small optimizations that can significantly increase their damage and consistency throughout a game.
Always think about stacks first. Every decision in the early game should be influenced by how many Dragon Practice stacks you can gain. Missing a few minions is sometimes acceptable if it prevents you from taking a bad trade that forces you out of lane. A Smolder with high stacks reaches his power spikes much faster than one with a small CS advantage but poor stacking.
Use Q to secure multiple minions whenever possible. Many players waste Q on a single minion when they could wait a second and hit several targets. Efficient stacking adds up over the course of a game and can mean reaching important upgrades minutes earlier.
Track your stack milestones constantly. Your gameplay should change depending on whether you're close to a major upgrade. If you're only a few stacks away from your next evolution, prioritize safe farming and stacking over risky fights.
Don't overuse E aggressively. Smolder's E is often his only reliable escape tool. Many players use it for extra damage during trades and then die to jungle pressure. Unless you know where the enemy jungler is, keep E available.
Play around terrain. Smolder becomes much harder to catch when he can use walls effectively with E. Before objectives spawn, position near terrain that gives you escape routes.
Your W is an excellent zoning tool. Even when it doesn't hit, enemies frequently move away from the explosion area. Use this to control space around objectives and choke points.
Be patient in teamfights. Smolder isn't a champion that needs to dive forward immediately. Let tanks engage first and focus on hitting the closest target. Your late-game damage is strong enough that front-to-back fighting is usually the correct choice.
Save ultimate for important moments. Many Smolder players use R simply because it's available. Instead, think about whether it can secure a kill, force enemies away from an objective, or swing a teamfight.
Use ultimate as a disengage tool. The knockback and large area can completely stop an enemy engage. Sometimes preventing a fight is more valuable than dealing damage.
Watch enemy crowd control cooldowns. Smolder is vulnerable when caught. If key abilities such as hooks, stuns, or knockups are unavailable, you can position much more aggressively.
Don't tunnel on carries. In many fights, attacking the enemy frontline is perfectly fine. Smolder's scaling damage allows him to melt tanks while staying safe.
Farm side lanes carefully after lane phase. Smolder loves extra gold and stacks, but he lacks mobility when E is down. Push waves only when you have vision and know where major threats are located.
Use objectives to accelerate your scaling. Dragons, Barons, and grouped minion waves create opportunities to hit multiple targets with abilities, generating value while contributing to the team.
Position slightly farther back than traditional ADCs. Smolder's abilities give him more reach than many marksmen. Use that advantage rather than standing at auto-attack range unnecessarily.
Think ahead during fights. Smolder rewards players who anticipate movement. Aim W and R where enemies will be, not where they currently are.
The biggest Smolder mistake is forcing fights before your power spikes. If you're behind in stacks, focus on farming and scaling. A patient Smolder can become one of the strongest champions on the map, even after a difficult early game.
Remember: surviving is often more valuable than dealing a little extra damage. A living Smolder continues stacking, farming, and scaling. A dead Smolder loses waves, experience, objective pressure, and valuable time toward his next power spike.
