Welcome to my Hecarim guide. I was excited for this champion when I had first heard about him, although I have also heard very bad things about him. I decided since I thought he was a really cool champion and I liked his abilities, why not give him a try. It turns out he is a very fast and fun champion, kind of like dominion. Okay not really. I play him solo top.

There is really only one solid rune page for this guy.

Armor pen marks, or flat attack damage.
Armor seals are the only way to go.
***Take flat mr over mr per level. It helps his early game which is his weakness. Also, you should be itemizing for mr since you are a bruiser/initiator.
Movement speed quints are the best option for him, although you can substitute them for flat health, armor pen, or flat attack damage. (not recommended)

I like 0/21/9 on him because he has a bad early game, so I try and help that as much as possible. This build makes you extremely hard to kill due to your tankiness and movement speed. Movement speed = damage so I do not see the offense tree very useful. You still do very good damage with this build do not worry.

Boots and health potions are the best start. If you are able, wait at base for your 4th potion, it will help alot. Maybe if you know it is going to be a hard lane, buy cloth 5 potions, or null magic mantle 2 potions. On your first back you want to have enough to get 2 dorans blades. Then decide whether you need treads or tabi, depending on the enemy team. Start building your trinity force right after, starting with sheen. Once you get trinity force, you are pretty set for the game. It seriously gives you everything you need. I find that you already have enough health to make atmas effective, so go straight into it. Next item is situational, although I like to get a maw of malmortius, the shield is not to be taken lightly. I love guardian angel as my last item.

You want to max your q as soon as possible, although if you are losing lane or having a hard time, maxing w is a good choice for more sustain. If you do not max q first, it will be completely useless, while his other skills have use throughout the game.

I find exhaust/ignite the best option for hecarim as he has problems early game, and it makes you a huge threat to your laning opponent. Ghost and flash is always acceptable.

Pros: A very fun champion
Can carry hard if given a good start
He is a murder horse
Very fast
One of the few badass champions

Cons: Has a bad early game
Can be beaten easily if not played well
ARGHHHHH his q damage on creeps makes me rage

In small skirmishes, auto attack, q, auto attack then leave. At level 2 you become very survivable when you get your w. You can charge up e, then initiate with your ultimate to hit like a truck. His ultimate is very good for assaulting the enemy carries coupled with exhaust.

Overall, hecarim is one of my favorite champions in the game. You should be the one on the frontlines initiating for your team, or protecting your carries.
