Also, I suggest you to uprade your to later, they are good for countering APCs

Out of the box indeed, might just be one of a kind guide.
It is thought something I've done quite a lot of times and can't really seem to fail with it.
I have to update the guide on build and counter issues thought because while most AP mids are easily countered by Aatrox, someone like can completely destroy him if he can play.

I also pointed out in the build that you should get against AP heavy teams, ofc this will be later on upgraded but while you already get the shield, and won't really need upgraded Unique passive from since Aatrox sustains himself fast in teamfights and especially in duels, it's a waste to consider upgrading it before you have everything else.

These are just opinions based on my own games, can't really quote anyone else on this matter.
