@NotedToSelf, @mastajdog - thanks guys :)
I'll see how the new patch has changed AD/AS Soraka. The base stats went UP - which is a really good thing, i'm not sure about the skills though. With ad build you don't need starcall so much - you need W, E, R, and it seems like all of them got nerfed (looking as AD/AS Soraka). As I said - AP Soraka Age incoming.

@talker
I've tried sword of the occult in the beginning of my 'adventure' with AD/AS Soraka and it was, at first, kind of my core item, because of the Wish and ability to get those stacks pretty easily. BUT - very important thing made me throw it away, to the 'situational items'. If they (enemies) see that you have occult, it's more likely that they will focus you. And that's the worst AD/AS Soraka nightmare. Getting focused.

[sidetrack]Also I've been trying AP Soraka some time ago (yes, before The Last Patch) and it wasn't so bad BUT NOW I can see how AP Soraka is about to get more and more popular. I'll try my AP ideas and see how they work now. Spell vamp Sorakas incoming: 1. AP Nuke Soraka, 2. Tanky AP Soraka.[/sidetrack]

Nice guide; looks as though build 4 is the best if not the only viable choice at this point. In order for Soraka to be effective at AP, she definitely needs some attack speed rather than damage straight out. It may be a good idea to add a snowball item, as Soraka can pick up assists with her ult and have better, a more formidable role as a DPS carry.

Just my thoughts. Great way to surprise people too.

Can you name/describe each build? and what's the best build overall? and early game? That way I know what runes to buy for this awesome guide :D. I'm serious to I love playing rediculous builds, I've tried AD/AS Soraka before it worked out sometimes but I never had a nice rune page for early game at the time. And others like TankPlank / Tank Soraka / Armor Stacking Runes (Its like 79 armor with Rammus + cloth armor at lvl 1, which gives him like 95 damage :D) / AD Janna, that's all I can think of right now that I've tried. I really wanna revisit AD/AS Soraka and check out AD Zilean.

Ok, so... The builds are sorted from the oldest to the newest, but it doesn't neccessarily mean from the worst to the best (there may be a going-up tendency, though, as I'm currently using the last build and feel like I'm growing up as AD/AS Soraka player). Another thing is that all these builds could be treated as many ways of going in the same build, because the items you're about to buy are game/team-dependant. Runes are the other thing.

Build 1 is focused on early critting -> early surprise. You have a nice harass but your dmg can be easily countered by armor. You get armor pen and attack speed really late which is why I don't use this build anymore.

Build 2 was my first build going straight into flat armor pen/reduction, my goal was to forget about critting or getting some last whisper, penetrating armor as much as possible and then getting the so needed dmg with lifesteal (bloodthirster). Also, another goal was to get some more attack speed (=better farming=more money=better items=stronger Soraka).

Build 3 brought an important change - Flash. It's pretty similiar to first build though and has a bit low armor pen (it's game-dependant but anyway). Anyway, I won't delete it yet, there are some differences (runes, masteries, item order, FLASH) that may make it worth saving, even just for an alternative.

Build 4

my main build at the moment. You can go 2 ways with it: If you take armor pen runes, go for zeal->infinity edge first, if you take crit chance runes, go for black cleaver asap. After taking your first BF-Sword-built item, do a little break for lifesteal/as with Stark's and then go for the second BF-Sword-built item (infinity edge/black cleaver, depending on what you took earlier, in the meanwhile you can upgrade zeal into phantom dancer). If you take berserker's greaves AND you took phantom dancer, at the end change berserkers into another phantom dancer or trinity force (or some tenacity item, if you're getting cc'd: mercury's/cloak and dagger). Oh and btw, you're a killing-machine late game (it's easy to become a dying-machine though as your only defence is speed from phantom(s), flash and ofc heals).

You can also check the last chapter - Changes for some more infos/opinions.

Btw, I've already tried AD Zilean too (very similiar build to the one Percee got here).

You need your dmg as fast as possible and malady make just doesn't increase your dmg output enough to take it. If you feel like taking it, though, I'd suggest building attack speed with magic passives (malady, wit's end, madred's, sword of the divine). I gave it a try some time ago and it didn't work as well as I wished. If I feel some sudden motivation, I'll check it once again.

Ever consider adding malady?

That will make you more supportive with your constant MR draining.
