Early game
Early game you just want to poke with Q, try not to hit the minion wave or at least.
Keep E for peel, dont go in with full E-Q-W combo, untill someone is chuncked down low.
Get your support item upgraded to tier 2 for extra mana sustain. Sustaining mana in lane is more important, than poking constantly. Always have enough mana for E.
Post lvl 6 you can try to get a quick pick just make sure you leave 1 dash from you ult to escape(Ahri is really squishy). and always make sure you adc in range to finish off kills.

By this time you should complete at least the Freezing ray, so its time to roam try to get other lanes ahead too.
Your engages have to be on point, as you are as good as dead, if you dont get anything out of your all ins.

Late game
Zhonya`s is crucial. Get in, get your combo off, make the enemy team blow thier CD`s on you, get out (remember to leave atleast 1 dash to escape)
Use Twin shadows to chase down enemies.
Chances are, if you did well in game the whole opposing team is going to focus you, so be really careful with you cooldowns.
