Akali is a burst damage champion, capable of taking down squishy champions in just a few seconds. Her instantaneous damage output is unmatched by any other champion in the game, if you play her right. This build focuses more on damage output than survivability. That being said this build is best used if your team has a good tank like Rammus or Amumu.

This rune and Mastery combination activates both of Akali's passives without purchasing any items. Because of this there is a wide range of items you can buy, depending on build you are choosing. The runes also provide Akali with a large amount of added Ability Power late game. The masteries are made to give Akali max ability power late game, and some added defense throughout the game.

Building Hextech Revolver at the start is great for adding on to Akali's starting life steal. It is the only option for soloing a lane without teleporting home too much.

Build Mercury Treads to keep Akali from being caught in AoE effects long enough for her to be singled out

Rabaddon's Deathcap early - mid game gives you the ability power to burst down almost any champion. This is a better alternative for me than Rylai's Crystal Scepter as after level 6 Shadow Dance lets you chase down basically any champion

Get Rylai's Crystal Scepter next. It is all around one of the best AP weapons as it gives you survivability, damage, and a very useful slow.

Lich Bane is a must have for Akali. Simply using one Mark - Shadow dance combo with Lich bane adds an additional 500 damage which can add up to over 1500

At this point you have a choice to either upgrade Your Hextech Revolver to a Gunblade, or buy a void staff. I generally buy the Hextech Gunblade as it greatly increases your survivability through Life steal and adding on to Akali's passive. Void staff is a better alternative, however, if the enemy team is focusing you and building alot of magic resistance.

The only other item i would recommend getting would be Mejai's Soulstealer. Only do this if you are doing very well early game as you should buy it before getting Rylai's Crystal Scepter, or Rabaddons Death Cap. If you are completely dominating and have max stacks, you obtain 180 ability power as well as 15% cool down reduction. With a maxed soul stealer it is possible to obtain 900+ ability power.

I choose Ghost over Flash as it is a great escape tool combined with Twilight Shroud. Since you dont become visible until about a second after leaving Twilight Shroud, ghost allows you to gain great distance on your pursuers without them even noticing. Combined with Akali's high move speed, you would be near impossible to catch.

Ignite simply ensures that you can obtain the kill throughout the game if you barely miss killing them with your combo.

Akali is by far my favorite champion.(mostly because i hate using boring AD champions) Akali's quick moving gameplay along with high damage output and great escape moves make her a very exciting and dangerous champion to play as, or against.
