Ya, could you update the guide? Otherwise, I tried the build and it works ok. You're right, it's hard to get farm but I enjoyed using the build nonetheless. Reading other comments, people say that ap Alistar doesn't work and bla bla bla, but with this mixed build, Alistar is quite nice. I upvote because the quality of this guide. The only thing is, why do you have no other item choices, are those the only ones that work? How about moonflair spellblade or perhaps sunfire cape which helps with farming from the aoe damage? Otherwise, nice guide, although you could argue the viability of Alistar in TT.

this build is fantastic!
i got to the point where i was soloing rammus, katarina and zilean and scoring an ace!
i did add a few changes such as spit visage and an abyssal scepter since they were AP heavy.
this was the most intense match i have ever played

Hmm, I don't really like Trinity on him, I'd rather get Iceborns. Rod of Ages: Okay, you need everything it gives. Boots of Switfness: Okay, can help you be even faster; although with Iceborn Gauntlets, that shouldn't be the problem. :D Aegis: Love it. Would get it everytime if noone of my teammates gets it - or I simply can't, but hope / tell the others to get one.

In my understanding playing him like this is about annoying the **** out of the enemy by getting constant slows and knocking them around all the time. In my experience, when you want to play him like that, Iceborns are the way to go: Every time you use a spell (which is quite often, considering your heal), you'll be able to not only deal a lot of damage, but also slow the enemy. If you build him like that (I love doing that on dominion), you would also be able to replace Nashors with something like Blackfire Torch and Zephyr with something else as well.

This build does remarkable damage. Everything on this build is there for a purpose.

Boots Of Swiftness - Removes slows faster and limits slows effectiveness. While allowing Alistar to Move faster to position better CC.

Zephyr - Tenacity to reduce any form of CC on Alistar. Along with 10% movement speed bonus. Finally faster attack speed maximize the amount of chances you have to proc a Phage from Trinity. 10% Cooldown Reduction.

Trinity Force - Phage procs to Slow enemies so they cannot get away. Movement speed to position yourself better. Sheen procs allow you to do MUCH more damage especially with your ult active.

Runic Bulwark - Noe explination needed really. The best group tank item in the game.

Nashor's Tooth - Even more so now with the removal of Malady this item will be even more effective. The 20% CDR for faster abilities off CD. Attack speed to proc more Phages. AP to give all abilities a slight boost in damage.

Rod of Ages - This item gives Alistar UNBELIEVABLE Sustain in lane in early game allowing you to domniate around lvl 6. the bonus health mana and AP from this item adds to his tank and gives you much needed AP in the beginning for your healz and much needed health for those early team fights.

This build is completely focused on making Alistar a Team Assassin... There is really no stopping him late game. If you are going to win you are going to have to do it fast. If Alistar gets this build he can defend a tower 3v1 no problem usually.

I have defeated a full build Vlad with 6 super minions attacking me while fighting him and won. This build is so potent. I have chased down Garen's and made them cry. 3v1's kill ADC or AP Carry and got away safely.

One must remember this is all done with an ult activated. Without and Ult up you are pretty quick to die. but with 40% CDR your ult is on a very short CD and is always worth waiting for it to be up before engaging.

You don't deal a lot of AD even with this build, cause you cannot be in your ult all the time. Building him with more AP and one more tankitem allows you to be an unbreakable 1v1 machine at a certain point in the game (it really works, I was surprised myself), not, because you are able to beat the enemy in damage, but because you are so annoyingly disruptive. I once played AD Blitz and beat a fully equipped AD Yi - simply because I could disrupt everything he did with my e and r.

That tankitem could be anything; magic res, pure health, or armor. I would make it dependend on the enemy team.

So yeah, I like the idea, but personally I'd change Trinity with Iceborn, Zephyr with something tanky, and Nashor's with Blackfire. That way you are so tanky noone can beat you fast, but also so disruptive and annoying they cannot ignore you.

For the idea and the whole guide a +1.

Very good guide, thanks. couple of questions:
Why do you include runes for physical damage, when only a small part of AListar ult uses physical?
Would you use critical chance with Alistar? Smacking minions with his pulverise plus CDR and crit would surely double his damage and gold often enough..
and Thornmail, any good for AListar?

I did Physical Runes to help you get that farm going early. This build is very reliant on his attack damage later. I let the crits from TF be my main source of crits. Each Item had a very important purpose in this build and to me I do not change anything ever. All I would change is what order I would buy them.

The AP I get from RoA helps his Pulverise almost 1 shot minion waves then all you have to do is stand next to them for 1-2 ticks of Rampage and the whole wave will be yours for the taking. This is also very good as it allows you to defend towers very very well.

This is cerainly not a good guide. I know it, because I play AP Alistar sometimes, and when I do, I carry. But what shocked me the most is, WTF Nashor's tooth Oo ?

It's not an AP Alistar build it is some AP to do constant damage while using skills to proc sheen the little bit of ap helps heals and rampage clear creeps. Nashor's Tooth is for getting that last bit of attack speed to help melt faces when you use your ult. I have fought a full build Vlad and 6 super minions to turn the math around and win a match. This an OP bruiser buils that can assassinate carries. Don't knock this build until you try it or watch me play it
