The alistar build is not for newer users but can be used for fun casual and sometimes rank if your smart. you may get some kills but you will mostly provide a window for easy kills in teamfights and lower the chances of survivability of enemies who flashed away low hp due to you hp burn on them. It makes you able to 1v1 basically anyone or yet stall them for an ally to come. DO NOT 1v3 or 1v5 because it common sense and remember you are a support, give your allies the kills and remember as a support assist = kills. so 0/5/32 is really good for you as a support. its basically 16/6/0 in kills. Every 2 assist = a kill in support roles. I am basing it off my way of thinking it. Remember use Iceborn Gauntlet alot for that slow and burn on the enemy, and don't be afraid to engage sometimes if you die as a support its ok as long as your team is able to use you corpse as a ladder for the win.
