Oh God. I'm so afraid to post this guide because this is not how to play Alistar. This is, however, how I play Alistar and my best game with him was 28/0. My worst was 4/11. I was so pissed during that game because it was one of two games ever (out of quite a few, not hundred's but over 35) with Alistar that I was negative. I am often negative, but not generally with champions I like (except Zyra XD) so it's not like I'm super good and no matter what I'm positive. I already know I'm going to get terrible ratings for this, but please at least TRY IT before giving me terrible ratings. I'll just warn you now.


I play lifesteal Alistar.

Lifesteal Quintessences, scaling AD everything else. Basically all I want here is great damage and great lifesteal.

30-0-0. Everything that increases some sort of damage in attack tree, plus the lifesteal. Get the picture yet?

So all the items I get are above. I buy them for lifesteal! I like to diversify the benefits of them besides lifesteal though, although most include damage. Some have armor, wrigglers has a free sight ward, and one has crit chance. Manamune is a must, takes care of your mana problems and adds some nice damage

Other than those items, you can also buy:

Hextech gunblade. Great item on Alistar, I often sell wrigglers for it late game if there is time. That's really it, but occasionally if I feel like I need to be fed more (as I mainly gank random lanes with Alistar, a non-jungling ganker is what I basically am) I will grab a phantom dancer for some easier minion kills.

Anything with lifesteal is fine. I'd be happy with with all four items (besides manamune and lucidity) being bloodthirster (I sincerely doubt you will get to four though haha).

First think I max is my W, the charge. It is your most helpful ability as a ganking Alistar, and just in general.
Next I max my Q, as it has a small AoE, and also pops them into the air/stuns like the W.
After that I get the E. Which I almost never use with this build. But it is still helpful sometimes in the middle of fights.
Ultimate as often as possible, this is one of my favorite ultimates and is just amazing in team fights.

You can do so much with lots of attack and lifesteal. You can solo anyone, even a Yi. Especially AD's as your ultimate frustrates them to no end since someone like Yi thinks they can solo anyone with their ultimate. WRONG.
