Introduction
Perhaps one of the oddest champions in the League of Legends is the yordle known as Amumu. His life before joining the League remains unknown... especially to Amumu. All he remembers is that he woke up alone inside a pyramid within the Shurima Desert. He was entwined in mummy wrappings and he could not feel his heart beat. Furthermore, he felt a deep sadness that he could not entirely explain; he knew he missed his parents, though he could not remember who they were. Dropping to his knees, Amumu wept into his bandages. No matter what he did, it seemed he could never stop his tears or sadness. Eventually he stood up, determined to wander the world to discover his past. Amumu traveled all across southern Valoran - a feat that is not easily dismissed.
While Amumu still hasn't learned much about his past, he has learned a great deal about who he has become. He is most assuredly undead, though he harbors none of the evil characteristics typical of undead beings. He also seems to keep trouble at arm's length; Amumu was able to traverse all of Southern Valoran without so much as a single bad thing happening to him. He was just sad, and the people and beings he encountered eventually shared his sadness. Ultimately, he made his way north across the Great Barrier to the Institute of War, the home of the League. Amumu's story was compelling to the summoners he met there, and they invited him to take part in a League Judgment. His success within the League as a champion has given Amumu something he desired: a home. With his present (un)life secured, he now hopes the friends he has made will help him discover his past.

I am going to explain why I chose the items I did and give some options on other items you could use. I start with boots 2 health pots and 1 mana pot the reason I start with boots is simple Amumu is slow as hell and the potions help you stay in lane longer. The main item in this build is Rod of Ages so get is as soon possible for the health mana and ability power. Next lets deal with boots I have always thought that boots are very situational for example if your enemy's team has alot of crowd control get Mercury Treds, if the enemy team is more tanky get Sorcer's shoes, if there is no clear specialized I would choose the CDR boots for faster ulti. Next item I go for is the sunfire cape the aoe damage is great with your (W) skill and the health and armour is good for taking extra damage too this is one of the items that I could see being replaced though if you are against using a sunfire cape then I would suggest replacing it with Litchbane more movement speed and it's amazing passive work well. After Sunfire cape I useally go for Abyssal Scepter for it's aura effect and the Ap / Magic resistence. By this time your Roda should be fully charged and you have enough ap to fully benifit Rabadon's Deathcap which is the next item you should build. Last but not least is Zhonya's Hourglass if you didn't buy a Sunfire Cape then this item is a MUST you need some sort of armour if you want to survive if you did get a sufire cape and you don't think you'll need the extra armour then feel free to buy Litchbane or some thing elts of your choice. Don't forget to buy Elixers when your build is done you would be surprised how much they can help!
I useally go with Ghost for chasing and fast get aways, and clarity, Clarity I choose clarity because early game (before Rod of Ages) you will be fairly mana hungery with clarity you can stay in lane longer while still being able to farm properly. I beleave that summoner spells are personal choices though, and you should use what you prefer.
I find runes alot like summoner spells personale choises but thos are what I use if you want to be a little bit more tanky you could you health per level seals / yellow, Magic Resitence Glyphs (blue), Flat health Marks (red). I do how ever strongly suggest getting at least teir 2 movement speed Quintessences though if you are dead set against that then get flat health instead. (This is my opinion get what you think would be best and if you find some thing that works better feel free to comment)
Amumu is a great jungler if things are slow and you happen to be in the jungle feel free to kill some stuff for extra gold using your (w) & (e) along with your sunfire should make quick work of most camps. Around mid game go for blue buff this will keep your mana up until your Rod of ages can take it's full effect. (If however your team already has a jungler try not to jungle to much as that is you ally's main sorce of gold)
When you farm try to make sure you get in the middle of all the creeps this allows you to deal damage to more creeps at once with your aoe abilites and geting attacked more will lower the cool down of your Temper tantrume late game feel free to use your w while famring so you can tear down waves faster.
