Hi everyone, and welcome to my alistar build. Yes, I know this is similar to the 'Off-tanks, the new metagame' build, but there are definately some differences. And, in my honest opinion this works better. So, let's get on with it.

The Faerie Charm and Rejunovation Bead are pretty standard for Alistar if you ask me. Philosophers stone greatly increases the amount of mana regeneration and gives the +5 gold every 10 seconds. Then mercury threads, and then you start building your lich bane. Always begin with the Sheen! I've had some great kills pretty much thanks to sheen. The devastating combo of Headbutt + Pulverize + sheen attack has actually got me quite a few 3 hit kills. Then Rabadons, just to boost up your ability power. After all, this is AP Alistar ;).
Then to ensure us some survivability I build philosophers stone into a shurelya's reverie, which has a great active. (Bonus movement speed to you and nearby allies.) Good for escaping/chasing.
Then, we take randuim's omen, build from the rejunovation bead. The active syncs just perfect with shurelya's, and since your combo brings you really close, you can slow them right after.

The runes are pretty obvious in my opinion, pretty much the standard caster's runes. Yes, they are the same runes as the off-tank metagame build, but hey, I can't help it the maker got them exactly right.

9/0/21 build. You might be asking yourself why I didn't put the 21 points into the defensive masteries, that's because I tend to use my abilities whenever they're off cooldown. Headbutt + Pulverize + sheen attack is just such a great harassing move.

Obviously you want to try to last hit as much as possible, but I like to annoy the enemy as much as I can. I don't even let them come close to our minions :). Just harass them with Headbutt, pulverize, basic attack if you have a sheen, and then back off. That's all there's to it. If you can, gank mid, Alistar can be a great ganker.

Killing with Alistar get's rather easy once you're fed. Headbutt and then immideatly use pulverize or they will be too far away to get hit by it. Then if you're certain you can actually get a kill, continue chasing. With Lich Bane you'll be able to keep up with him. Your abilities should be off cooldown pretty soon, but if not then heal > sheen basic attack might do the trick. Also his new passive, trample, deals quite alot of damage when you're chasing.
I hate to say this, but don't be afraid to 'steal' a kill. A headbutt will pretty much ensure a last-hit on a champion. This might seem dumb, but once your team finds out how good you are when fed, they'll stop raging at you because you 'stole' a kill from them. Obviously you're not supposed to do it 24/7, you want to stay friends with your teammates :P.

Why do I prioritze headbutt? One word: Damage. The damage combined with pulverize is amazing. I then max pulverize, and then triumphant roar. I just like to use this whenever it's ready, to heal our minions and myself. And of course my lanepartner. Save them from these last ticks of ignite ;).

Allright, so I've actually managed to get amazing scores with this. I actually got a triple kill ;).

I know I lost that one game, but hey, my team was just so terrible :/. I got a good score nonetheless.
