I switched it up just a bit. It does slow your early game down a bit, but once you get it it makes you damn near unstoppable. What I'm doing is buying my level one boots first, then bum rushing Innervating Locket, then the Berserker boots, sheen, stinger, lich bane, and finally nashor's. Most games don't last that longer than that and it fills in the extra item you're missing.

IMO it completely negates the need to use mana regen seals on her, and after getting it I could Q spam a wave and get completely back up to full like it was nothing after a team fight. Not to mention it makes you nigh unkillable 1v1 (as if we were having much trouble before, but this kinda seals the deal). Plus with the 10% bonus CDR from this and Nashor's we're up to a cool 35% CDR. Damn near max. That's pretty tasty.

This is a very nice glass cannon build. With a good tank that can taunt/stun like Shen, Amumu, Galio, Rammus, etc, you will push out some crazy damage.

My first game using your build, which is pretty cheap gold wise IMO and great for playing mid, I went 8/5/16. As I get used to this playstyle I can only see that getting better.

I tried two different strategies with this. I would dive in with Q and my ult already up in case I was stunned, and wait until I was lower in health than the carry. I'd then hit E to stun them and open up with the rest of my ult. This would almost guarantee me a kill against, say, Twitch, but it wasn't as easy to position myself for my ult to hit all of them so I would usually end up flashing out with about 25% life and taking off.

Secondly I started waiting until our Amumu went in and stunned them, then I would quickly line up and spam my ult on them. This would knock their squishies alone down to about half with the damage from Amumu as well. From there it was much simpler to dive in and pick people off quickly. This seemed to synergize much better with team battles.

Either way, thanks for posting this. I just thought I would post and let you know how it's been working for me. Definitely up voted. More people should, IMO.

Sounds like you are just advertising your own build, but that's cool. In no way shape or form is Lichbane/zhonya's in the same build a good idea, they do not both proc if that's what you were suggesting. As for Cleanse/Clarity, you first of all have like 45% cc reduction passive, and so cleanse is not really needed, and you never run out of mana with Irelia, her power is her low cd 1:1 ratio nukes with good regeneration (healing with fast W hits and ultimate) and very low mana demanding. Especially with jungling, Nashors + golem is overkill. Thanks anyway though.

hey i like your build going Zonnya's but i think my build is more rounded with cleanse and clarity to maximize survivability and lich + triforce to max dmg with a madreads for good measure although i supposed you only have 5 items anyway so you could get a triforce with this build as well. go check my guide out tell me what you think, it's named "irelia: for bragging rights"

Honestly have not had a bad game going this build yet, the crazy damage you do throughout the whole game is amazing, so easy to gank. What I found to be the best is making sure you can jungle mid-late game for those ganks, remember to use your ulti in jungle when getting low on hp as it boosts you to max very fast. And with lizard + E ganking is ridiculously easy.

Well as I think i mentioned, runes are entirely up to you, but what I've found is that regardless, Irelia has great ganking potential with a Sheen early-mid game, and the ArP is just in between bursts when your ripping them with your auto hits + true damage, this lets your auto hits do a bit more damage + the bit of AD from rageblade. Basically, your bursts does great damage, capable of dealing massive damage in short periods of time, and then if you calculate your auto hits, you still deal good auto hit damage (150 or so) + 75 from W, in fast auto hits, trust me, it does massive dmg

Why does an AP build need Armor Pen runes?

This guide is kinda useful. I am very new to Irelia but i did a 10:1:7 in my latest game even though the opponents got a garen, mordekaiser and an akali in their team.
