Shaco is more of a fun champion than anything serious. If you do want a serious Shaco to use, look up the best Shaco build, more than likely it'll be a AD build not AP. Normally, I wouldn't recommend this or any AP build if you want a near-guaranteed win, but if you know how to bait as a Shaco, then you can try to make him your main.

-Start off the game by getting the Blue Buff;
1.) Getting this buff will need not only leashing, but teammates to help take it out
2.) Rush there ASAP after buying your book and blue potion
3.) Set up as many Jack in the Boxs as you can so that you do more damage when attacking the Golem

-AP Shaco + Heimerdinger = Perfect lane. If your Heimer is good you won't lose a lane, in fact, you'll push beyond belief; normally getting their tower in 5-10 minutes.

Pros:
-Amazing at getting away!
-Godly burst damage
-Jack in the Box has Fear
-When you have good baiting skills, your AP Shaco can become Godlike
-If you have good teammates, you can get many kills (best I've done is 7/0 in 20 mins.)
-You like trolling? Perfect...
-Godlike escapability

Cons:
-Horrible farmer, your gold comes from kills :)
-Not tanky
-Does bad in the open
-Not great in team fights, unless someone runs away, that's where you come in
-Does not survive a lot of fights, unless 1v1 or even 2v1 if you have enough Boxes set up
-Dies to Karthus way too easily
-EXTREMELY LOW MANA POOL

Recommended:

Smite

is only recommended for jungling, there are some jungling Shacos.

Ghost

can be used, but sometimes ignite does better.

Flash

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND for getting away even though you have a teleport.

Exhaust

is good, but I'd personally have to go with Ghost over this.
