I have found that I no longer need Philosopher's Stone to make up for my lack of skill. Early game, Meki is still great. But eventually I sell it to help me get other items (or to make room if I'm fed). I usually don't make it past the items I have listed, so the last spot can be used for whatever you feel like.
I now use Cleanse instead of heal to help increase my survivability, as Ghost only increases your current move speed by a %. Teleport is inexcusable not to have, you can't miss out on any experience from mid.
I changed my runes up, I decided the extra health just wasn't worth it. Instead, since Seals give more crit damage per rune, I give that responsibility to them and fill my Glyphs with CD reduction. I'm going with the % every level because I want the reduction for my ECA later in the game. The flat % is useless early game as I volley enough as it is.
In addition to these changes, I also am starting to put PB in my level-up sequence in place of FA. I get the slow early on for volley, but I don't need it early game as much as I need the gold. The Zerker's Greaves help me get those last-second kills, so it really helps out. However, when I'm pressed by hefty competition, I will sometimes go Swiftness. I almost never go Mercury, I never see the need as I am learning to be very cautious.
In addendum to my item sequence build, that's really the best I can do for a stable progression. Sometimes I may mix it up if I am having trouble staying alive, like buying Phantom Dancer early. However, I always try to get Bloodthirster as my first serious item.
I will post more on this update later, as I have seen a lot better results with this method of gearing and leveling.
