Introduction
I've been playing LoL since 2010 and have played Tristana for a long time so I understand her kit, her utility and how the rework for S5 has affected her gameplay. I promise I'll give you the best advice I possibly can when it comes to using her. Mind you, you can modify my guide however you'd like but I'm giving you every little detail that you should know about her and how she lanes/farms/teamfights.
Also this is my first MobaFire guide so I apologize if it looks weird, just let me know any questions you have and I'll help as best as I can.
With Tristana in lane, farming is your #1 priority. When the cannon minion comes, if your lane is pushed make sure to explosive shot it and rapid fire to farm the wave while pushing it as well as get some much needed harass on your opponent. You should be able to farm just as well as any other ADC but do not let your wave be pushed to turret unless you're expecting a gank, you lose lane presence and much needed gold early on. You should also be poking as much as possible. Don't be hesitant to throw an E on the support and hit him a couple times to pump the stacks up and watch a level 2 thresh run in terror as 1/3 of his health is gone from a couple shots on your E.
Now engaging is pretty straightforward with Tristana, but remember one thing- If you use rocket jump in your combo at all, make sure you finish them off because it's down for around 24 seconds at first rank if you don't get the reset on it. Now typically your combo will be E on your target, hit them til its about to pop then rocket jump for increased damage based on stacks, followed by a rapid fire for trading. The ult will depend on if you can get the kill without it or not. Usually you want to save it for your next rocket jump on the enemy support to knock him into your support or your turret or jungler or whatever the situation entails OR you can save it for your escape from the enemy jungler. Now most players will call me Noob for saying to use your rocket jump offensively but the cc slow and bonus damage you get from your e makes you hit like a truck really early, especially if you have a support that can also do damage. Most times you'll find you simply outlane your opponents because they can't sustain in lane without ganks. Remember those LS quints I told you to get? Notice how that enemy jinx went back to base and bought a vampiric scepter cause she needed to sustain? Well when you get your BF sword, you'll be hitting harder than her with just as much passive lifesteal. If you're having fun and want to see the difference go back and also buy a vampiric scepter and notice how your LS is already 16%... This is why you don't need the scepter early on. The damage quints would be nice but you don't really need them if you're following my guide.
Just remember- "Sometimes outnumbered, never outgunned."
