Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
First of all... "I put the "goal" in "golem."
Now that that's said, for my summoner spells I like to use Clarity and Clairvoyance.
Clarity is always good for two reasons:
1) You don't have to leave lane, and since I have the Insight mastery, neither does your teammate
2)Since your mana barrier passive protects you for 50% of your mana, When you feel that you are just about to go below 20% health, you can use clarity, therefore gaining a stronger shield.
The second spell I use is Clairvoyance.
This is an incredible support spell, and yes, at some point you must realize, that when you're Blitzcrank, you are better off being an amazing support character. Clairvoyance pretty much prevents both you and you're laning partner from being ganked, especially when you have the Mystic Vision mastery. Then you have it for an entire 10 seconds!
I like to put 21 in Utility. I don't feel the need to put it in Defense because truthfully, Blitzcrank is a horrible tank if you build him as a straight up tank. It's much more useful to spec in Utility because it gives you some good masteries and it makes your summoner spells much better.
Max Rocket Grab first. It lowers the long cooldown and it makes it much stronger. Level up Power Fist next. There's really no need to level it up first since the only benefit is lowering the cooldown. And last but not least, level up Overdrive. I will add some great attack speed and chasing abilities late game. Of course level up Static Field whenever you can.
Start with a Sapphire Crystal and one or two Health Pots. This will build into Sheen which is probably the most useful item for Blitzcrank. After uses his Rocket Grab, his Power Fist does great damage.
Then its time to get boots. Boots of mobility is great for ganking. You're able to run to another lane, grab your opponent, and finish the job, before their teammate can even call mia. Another option is always Mercs Treads. The CC Reduction is always a must when going against teams with lots of CC.
The next item to get is Frozen Heart. It's great for the cooldown reduction. Also the 99 armor and 500 mana is always a plus! Make sure you build Glacial Shroud first. There's no point in using your gold on the two cloth armors first.
Now It's time to upgrade your Sheen into a Trinity Force. I like to start with Zeal because at this point in the game, your attack is much stronger, and the attack speed from your Overdrive makes you a much better killing machine. And don't you forget that. You are a killing machine!
At this point the game is pretty much over and you have all the items you could ever want, but who says you can't have more than you need!
I like getting Madred's Bloodrazor. With your Overdrive fully maxed, Trinity Force, and Marded's Bloodrazor, you will start to wreak havoc. It's just a fun thing to do in case you want to be a ****.
An alternative is Rylai's Crystal Sceptor. Since your attacks become even better with AP, Rylai's will help you even more, giving you both 80 AP and 500 health to give you better survivability.
Well that's pretty much it, so just remember... "A rolling golem gathers no rust."
