This is my first guide for mobafire. English is not my first languange so if there are any correction that needs to be made please tell me :). Brand is one of the first AP carry that I manage to master and here is the build that I think suit my play style with Brand.

Brand is one of the strongest AP carry that can own lane and is very dangerous in team fights. Even though there are both pros and cons with Brand, however if played correctly the cons can be covered up quiet well.

History:

In a faraway place known as Lokfar there was a seafaring marauder called Kegan Rodhe. As was his people's way, Kegan sailed far and wide with his fellows, stealing treasures from those unlucky enough to catch their attention. To some, he was a monster; to others, just a man. One night, as they sailed through the arctic waters, strange lights danced over the frozen wastes. There was something hypnotic about them; it was something that drew them to it like moths to a flame. Trekking across the frozen waste, they came to a cave covered in ancient runes. The meaning of the runes long lost to them, Kegan led the way inside. There, inside a perfect cage of ice floated a dancing column of flame. There was no way such a thing should be burning, especially not in this place. However, its movement was as hypnotic as a siren's song, captivating and seductive. While the others stayed back, Kegan could not help but approach it while holding out his hand...

That is the last thing Kegan Rodhe remembers, for now his body belongs to Brand. It is a creature of olden times, perhaps even a casualty of the Rune Wars. It is known in ancient texts as the Burning Vengeance. It is a creature of pure fiery hate that exists for no other reason than to lay waste the world of men and yordles. No one is quite sure how Brand found his way to Valoran, but he began his predations at once. Overcome by Demacian forces, he was given a choice: fight within the confines of the League or die. Naturally, he chose to use his destructive powers in the League, for now...

Pros

• Very Strong Caster.
• Can own AD carry in lane.Fire is cool.
• Good in both teamfight and lane.

Cons

• Mana Reliant.
• Fragile (Glass Cannon).
• Quiet Hard to Master.
• Good positioning is required.

Flash and Ignite are the 2 main summoner spells that I always use for Brand.
Ignite is essential for Brand, those combos can instantly bring a champion down to low health, if they still manage to survive use ignite to finish them off. Ignite can also be used for heroes that have healing skills, such as Nidalee, Taric, Soraka and Sona. Secret to Tryndamere: he can also be kill with ignite, when he is using his ult, use ignite on him and this can kill him off when his ult finish since the healing decrease by a lot.
Flash, in high elo game is a must! For an experience player flash is better than ghost, since flash allows you to teleport over cliff and walls which has been proven useful in rank games and even normal games.

My runes mainly revolve around most AP caster which relies on mana. I use Magic Pen for my Mark for the early burst.

Mana regen for my seal, you will see how useful this mana regen runes on brand is, by using mana regen runes and 2 Dorans ring, you can use skill to farm minions and still have the mana to harras and kill champions.

For both my Quint and Glyph I use AP runes. AP per level for glyph since it gives more AP when you reach 6 and Flat AP runes for my quint. I finds that by using AP runes for Quint and Glyph gives Brand the most damage in early and mid game.

Most of my AP carry uses this masteries as my main AP carry masteries 9/0/21. By having 9 in offense it gives brand the extra ability power and magic penetration. 21 in utility gives Brand all the extra attributes that an AP carry caster needs. The extra movement speed, mana regen and buff duration for blue buff.

Start with 1 boot and 3 pots you will probably be given mid since you are using Brand. You have to get 2 Dorans Ring since this is the main item for Brand. The extra HP, AP and Mana Regen are all essential for Brand. After getting your 2 Dorans Ring, try to farm for your old rod, if this is a problem buy a sorcerer shoes first.

After buying your sorcerer shoes, save up and buy a rabadon deathcap since this item is very important for Brand. After you finish your death cap you can decide on wheter Zhonya Hour Glass or Void Staff. If your opponents stacks MR (Magic Resistance) items buy a void staff, if there are no MR buy a Zhonya Hour Glass.

Banshee's Veil

Banshee's Veil is a very good item on most AP carry especially if you are getting aim by other caster such as Veigar and Malzahar Banshee Veil can really save you in this condition and have been proven in High rank game in NA League of Legends.

Zhonya Hour Glass

Zhonya hour glass is very important to Brand especially in team fights. After using all your spells in team fights the enemy champions will instantly tries to finish you off before the CD of your spells finish. This is where Zhonya Hour Glass helps in providing those additional seconds for the CD of your spells and it have help me in all of my matches with Brand.

Void Staff

Void Staff is important and is almost most of the time your last item for Brand. However, in rank match good players tends to stack MR when a good AP carry is presence this is when most of the time I rush Void Staff after finishing my Death Cap and have been proven to be useful in team fights even with opponent with high MR.

Other Items

This is some items that I have used on Brand and have been proven to be useful.
Will of the Ancients: Give you Vamp Spell which is a Life Steal for casters and can sometimes help you stay in lane even when your health is below 50%. By using your combo W-E combo it can help gain back 80 health per creeps hit, which is a lot in early game.
Deathfire Grasp: After using all your E-Q-W-R combo, there is an additional combo which is always great :).
Morello's Evil Tome: Extra AP and CD reduction (VERY GOOD ON BRAND).
Moonflair Spellblade: Heavy CC opponent?? This item provides tenancity which provide a lot of help for slows, stuns and fears.
Quicksilver Sash: Keep getting stun, QSS have helped me in most games especially against heavy CC opponents. ITS DAMN CHEAP!!! Giving you an extra summoners spell cleanse.

Laning

Hero

: This combo is most of the time I use for both harrasing and killing an enemy champion in lane E-Q-W. This is also the main reason in why I max Q first instead of E, just stay calm and aim your Q after E, if the stun lands use W this combo gives a lot of burst and is most of the time how I kill my opponents in lane.

Farming

: When your W reaches level 3 mixing it with level 1 E u can clear the far minions creep with this combo, W and E which is I think is enough for farming.

Team Fights

In team fight you cannot use the E-Q-W combo since team fights are always very situational. However the easiest thing to do in team fight is using the W-R-Q or W-Q-R. Why dont I use E?? You can use E however, use E only when it is save, since the range of E is very close and might result in your dead when you use it in a team fight.

Important

Brand is a caster, like most caster positioning is very important. Try not to get too close and try to get too far. Try to get into a range where you can still land your spells and can still run away when doing so. Positioning might be hard to master, but it is very rewarding when mastered properly.

Taric: The Brand and Taric combo, is one of the combo that I considered as very imbalanced. When Taric stuns Brand can land all his combo without any skill shot required, which means the W and Q are going to land 100%.
