Champion Build Guide

🔪🔪🔪CHOP CHOP Panth

By AtomnaSvinya
Pros & Cons

Introduction

"The enemy bot lane cannot scale if they never survive the laning phase."

This build transforms Pantheon from a traditional support into an aggressive playmaker capable of deciding the outcome of a game before the 20-minute mark. With [item=Bloodsong], [item=Eclipse] or [item=Sundered Sky], your goal is simple: dominate the lane, roam relentlessly, and eliminate priority targets before teamfights even begin.

Unlike conventional supports, Pantheon thrives on pressure, tempo, and decisive engages. Every level advantage, every successful all-in, and every roam pushes your team closer to victory. If you enjoy forcing fights, punishing mistakes, and carrying games from the support role, this build is for you.
"Victory is earned through pressure, not patience."

Pros & Cons

✓ Pros

  • One of the strongest level 2 all-ins in the game.
  • Empowered W instantly procs Press the Attack.
  • Excellent roaming potential and map pressure.
  • Can one-shot squishy targets during the mid game.
  • Flexible itemization depending on enemy composition.
  • Amazing synergy with aggressive ADCs.
  • Reliable point-and-click crowd control.
  • Can function as a secondary carry instead of a traditional support.
  • Strong objective control through early-game dominance.
  • Extremely rewarding for proactive players.

✗ Cons

  • Falls off if early aggression fails.
  • Highly dependent on W for successful engages.
  • Struggles against heavy disengage compositions.
  • Failed all-ins are punished very hard.
  • Poor synergy with scaling ADCs like Smolder or Zeri.
  • Provides less utility than traditional supports.
  • Tank supports can survive your burst and outscale later.
  • Requires strong macro and roaming decisions.
  • Limited options when playing from behind.
  • Not beginner-friendly compared to standard supports.
Runes

CHOP CHOP (Empowered W Build)

This rune page is built specifically around one thing: maximizing the power of Empowered W. Every rune contributes to stronger all-ins, faster snowballing, and more explosive early-game pressure. If your goal is to kill the enemy bot lane before they can react, this is the setup for you.
  • Press the Attack is the core of the entire build. Empowered W instantly procs the keystone, massively increasing your burst damage and amplifying your ADC's follow-up damage.
  • Triumph allows you to survive aggressive dives and extended skirmishes, often turning risky engages into successful double kills.
  • Legend: Alacrity makes your Empowered W combo smoother and faster, ensuring all three strikes connect as quickly as possible.
  • Coup de Grace perfectly complements Pantheon's burst-oriented playstyle, helping you finish off targets before they can escape or receive peel.
  • Taste of Blood provides valuable sustain during the laning phase, allowing you to continuously pressure opponents and recover health after every successful trade.
  • Treasure Hunter accelerates your gold income and item spikes, enabling earlier access to your core CHOP CHOP items and increasing your snowball potential across the map.
Advantages
  • Maximum burst damage through Empowered W.
  • Stronger early-game all-ins and kill pressure.
  • Faster access to core items thanks to Treasure Hunter.
  • Better sustain during aggressive laning phases.
  • Exceptional snowball potential after successful roams.
  • The highest carry potential among all Pantheon support rune pages.
Summoner Spells

Summoner Spells

Flash + Ignite — Default Choice
  • Flash is mandatory on Pantheon. It enables unexpected engages, Flash-W combos, tower dives, and game-changing picks throughout every stage of the match.
  • Ignite perfectly complements the CHOP CHOP playstyle. The additional true damage and healing reduction greatly increase your kill pressure during the early game and allow you to snowball leads much faster.

This should be your default setup in most games, especially when paired with aggressive ADCs such as [champ=Draven], [champ=Kalista], [champ=Lucian], or [champ=Samira]. If your goal is to dominate the lane and end fights as quickly as possible, Ignite is simply unmatched.

Flash + Exhaust — Situational Choice

Take Exhaust when playing alongside weak early-game ADCs like [champ=Smolder], [champ=Zeri], or [champ=Kog'Maw], especially against highly aggressive bot lanes that want to fight constantly from level 2 onward.

It is also extremely valuable against champions that rely on burst damage and all-ins, such as [champ=Samira], [champ=Tristana], [champ=Draven], [champ=Nilah], or assassins that threaten your carries later in the game.

While you lose some kill pressure compared to Ignite, Exhaust provides significantly more safety and often allows your scaling teammates to survive long enough to carry teamfights.
Choose Ignite to kill faster. Choose Exhaust to survive longer.
Itemization

Itemization

"CHOP CHOP is built around a single idea: turning Empowered W into the most devastating engage tool possible."

Unlike traditional Pantheon support builds that focus purely on utility or lethality, this setup combines burst damage, survivability, and on-hit effects to create an incredibly powerful mid-game spike.

Every item has a specific purpose:
  • Sundered Sky provides durability, sustain, and frontline potential.
  • Eclipse grants unmatched early-game burst and snowball power.
  • Blade of the Ruined King transforms Empowered W into a true execution tool.
  • Bloodsong amplifies your entire combo and rewards aggressive play.
  • Death's Dance and Maw of Malmortius allow you to survive after engaging.

The result is a support build capable of deleting carries while still functioning as a secondary frontline during mid and late-game teamfights.

Starting Items

Pantheon support thrives on early pressure and constant aggression.

World Atlas provides your economic foundation, while two Health Potions ensure that you can continue forcing trades even after taking damage.

  • Two potions allow more aggressive laning patterns and safer level-two all-ins.
  • Swap to Oracle Lens on your first recall to deny vision and create roaming opportunities.
  • Information control wins games long before mechanics do.

First Recall

Caulfield's Warhammer

Regardless of your build path, Caulfield's Warhammer should always be your first major purchase.

Attack Damage directly strengthens every ability, while Ability Haste dramatically improves your ability to pressure the map.

Most importantly, it builds into both:
Sundered Sky
Eclipse

This flexibility allows you to delay your final decision until you fully understand how the game is developing.

If you cannot afford it, buy:
Long Sword 2Ð¥ + Boots

Your second recall should almost always include:
Boots
Control Ward
  • More movement speed means stronger roams and better engage angles.
  • Control Wards create pressure even when you're not visible on the map.
  • A hidden Pantheon is often more dangerous than one standing in lane.

Why Sundered Sky?

Sundered Sky is the safe and universal option.

Choose it when playing with scaling ADCs such as Smolder, Zeri, KogMaw, or Jinx.

These champions require time to reach their full potential, meaning Pantheon must provide more than raw burst damage.

Sundered Sky gives:

  • Additional survivability during skirmishes.
  • Reliable sustain after engages.
  • Semi-frontline capabilities for mid-game fights.
  • Consistent value regardless of game length.

The guaranteed critical strike synergizes beautifully with Pantheon's aggressive trading patterns and allows you to remain threatening without sacrificing durability.
Consistency over explosiveness.

Why Eclipse?

[item=Eclipse] represents the purest form of the CHOP CHOP philosophy.

Everything about this item revolves around one idea:

KILL THEM BEFORE THEY CAN FIGHT BACK.

Lethality dramatically amplifies Pantheon's early damage output, while the passive rewards his short, explosive trading patterns.

Choose Eclipse when:
  • Playing with aggressive ADCs like Draven, Kalista, Lucian, or Tristana.
  • Facing multiple squishy champions.
  • You secure an early lead in lane.
  • Your team composition demands early aggression.

Eclipse transforms every successful engage into a potential kill and every kill into a faster snowball.
Explosiveness over consistency.

Second Item</color]

Regardless of which option you choose first, both Eclipse and Sundered Sky are mandatory components of the CHOP CHOP build.

The combination of burst damage, sustain, survivability, and utility creates the perfect foundation for your mid-game powerspike.

Together, these items allow Pantheon to:

  • Instantly threaten enemy carries.
  • Survive extended skirmishes.
  • Function as a secondary frontline.
  • Maintain pressure throughout every stage of the game.

The Heart of CHOP CHOP: Blade of the Ruined King

[item=Blade of the Ruined King] is the single most important item in this entire build.

Empowered W strikes three times almost instantly, allowing Pantheon to abuse every on-hit interaction available.

That means:

  • Three applications of Blade of the Ruined King's passive.
  • An immediate Press the Attack proc.
  • Instant activation of Bloodsong.
  • Devastating burst against both carries and bruisers.

Unlike traditional lethality builds that struggle against high-health targets, BORK ensures that Pantheon remains threatening regardless of enemy composition.

This item transforms Pantheon from an engager into an executioner.

The combination of:
  • Empowered W
  • Press the Attack
  • Bloodsong
  • Blade of the Ruined King

creates one of the most devastating single-target burst patterns available to any support champion in League of Legends.
This is the reason why the CHOP CHOP build exists.

Defensive Items: Death's Dance vs Maw of Malmortius

Both items fulfill the same role: keeping you alive after engaging.

Choose [item=Death's Dance] when:

  • The enemy team deals primarily physical damage.
  • You are the main engage tool for your team.
  • The enemy composition relies on auto attackers.

Choose [item=Maw of Malmortius] when:
  • The enemy team has multiple AP champions.
  • A fed mage threatens to one-shot you.
  • Burst magic damage is the primary threat.
Death's Dance = Anti-AD
|
Maw = Anti-AP

Support Upgrade: Bloodsong vs Celestial Opposition

Choose [item=Bloodsong] when your objective is simple:

MORE DAMAGE. MORE KILLS. MORE SNOWBALL.

Bloodsong perfectly complements the CHOP CHOP identity by amplifying your Empowered W combo and increasing your carry potential.

Choose [item=Celestial Opposition] when:
  • You are the primary frontline.
  • The enemy composition has massive burst damage.
  • Your team needs additional survivability rather than damage.
Bloodsong = Kill Faster
|
Celestial Opposition = Survive Longer
