The build I use is pretty similar to this one, however, I find that Wit's End is pretty darn useful early game, good attack speed, and 42 mana burn per hit. It can really put a dent in the opponents mana bank, and sometimes, cause them to lose their escapes due to no mana. it isn't just an early game item though, as the attack speed and 42 extra damage per hit helps alot later.

This build worked well for me. I was always going for more attack speed before but going for more AP really works much better. I generally always go for the Malady, Sorc Shoes, and Stinger as fast as I can. I then look at all your other item suggestions and pick according to the situation. Oh. I also don't go into Defense tree. I tend to delve into the Utility tree instead.

I would like to recommend picking up a Frost Mallet. In high ELO games, this will make a significant difference for you.

I know you're just leveling up still. But trust me. The difference is great.
