Introduction

Renekton is a fun and powerful champion, but requires cooperation in laning with others for getting rage up. Also, being denied minion hits from enemies or allies is crippling. To avoid this Jungling is a possibility if prepared for. Due to the near insignificant amount of life return on Cull the Meek, and the inability for lifesteal to be applied to it Renekton does not have the regeneration qualities of most junglers. Despite his ability to hit multiple targets with some abilities renekton is fairly slow to start. However, his Slice and Ruthless Predator skills are great for ambushing unsuspecting enemies and the jungle provides means to gain rage without interference.

This guide will focus on allowing you to jungle out of harms way and then, when you have rage and health, jump into lane stunning and chasing enemies in relentless ganks.

Runes

Greater Mark of Desolation make your damage really count against armored champions and golems. Strength marks would likely do less damage overall against these enemies.

Greater Seal of Armor reduces the damage taken by minions, monsters, and some champions. this helps for those long sustained autoattack fights in the jungle

Greater Seal of Cooldown Reduction are, in my opinion, better than most alternatives because seals don't specialize in anything that Renekton can capitalize on. Alacrity can be used here but Renekton gets a lot of his hits from skills, especially while chasing champions.

Greater Quintessence of Desolation for the same reason as the marks or health quints could work too.

Summoner Spells

Smite is a given for jungling. Sadly it is necessary for the first few fights and helps to keep you moving for jumping into the jungle for red buff and out again. Also it can be used to steal buffs from enemies while they are stunned by Ruthless Predator.

Exhaust is great for giving the edge on AD champs and helping to chase between slices and stuns.

Items

Brutalizer and Sunfire cape are Renektons bread and butter. They give him just about everything he would need regardless of role, and especially for jungling. Aoe damage and extra AD/APen/CDR is amazing.

Any boots will do really, your choice. I go with lucidity to get DCR near max.

Black Cleaver will deliver all of its charges one a single Empowered Ruthless Predator and stacks with Empowered Dice's debuff. Combined with runes and brutalizer no amount of armor will negate your presence.

Wriggles Lantern is a great way to start because the Razors make jungling easier and the free wards/ lifesteal make the job worthwhile.

I end with infinity edge because Yuumuu's ghostblade adds crit chance that should find some use. these combined will make you even more powerful. Alternatively a defence item could help if you find that your ult and cape aren't enough.

Normally Renekton finds use in the Frozen Mallet or Bilgewatar Cutlass. Being a junger I expect to have Red buff most of the time or an ally to snare. Replace Infinity edge with the Mallet and build before Yuumuu's if this is not the case.

Creeping / Jungling

I start with minigolems, using a leash when available. the leash isn't a big deal but being able to kill the first golem with one hit and smite then having only one target to work on is very helpful to the long run and could save you a potion. next i hit wraiths usually by activating ruthless predator at 40 fury and then culling. Taking out wolves isn't an issue at this point after which take blue by first attacking the small lizards and then working down the big guy. At this point you don't have quite enough gold to warrent going back so retake the mini golems and if you have a potion left + smite try for red. After that recall, take wraiths to gain fury and gank.

Take dragon whenever possible, you will need either your ult or wriggles early on.
