You do realize that the lich bane proc auto attack after your q - w - r will happen nearly automatically, and isn't going to change your position when assasinating a squishy. Wether or not you auto attack doesn't change the fact that you go in without an escape on diana... Even on non-lich bane diana builds, if you're not auto-attacking and attempting to get your moonsilver blade proc, you still put yourself in the same position.
Now in some world where it didn't take a half second to get 1 auto attack after you dash directly to the enemy, it wouldn't quite matter, because late game doesn't mean you'll always be in a situation where its horrible to engage. So what happens when your tank engages, and you go in after. You're not gonna auto once or twice? I mean that's just rediculous. Lich bane's damage is much more consistent, higher late, and doesn't go on a 60 second cd everytime it's used. And i'm sorry, but you're lying if you say your not auto-attacking at least once during the split second after you dash to your target.
Oh yes and the Spell Section actually should be Abilities :/
The Moonfall there you have a fidlestick instead of Fiddlesticks
Why do you say, "never" to lich bane on Diana. She can proc it 1 - 3 times depending on how long she wants the engagement to be in a fight. That's literally giving her 1 - 3 extra 75% AP scaling spells that will be stronger as she gets more ap. People always go for this "tanky mage" build, but if you have experience on the champ you start to notice it's not strong enough to compete with the current meta. If you ever rush abyssal scepter, you itemize for your lane opponent, and end up being useful against other lanes, so the item ends up being garbage unless the enemy is full of ap. Zhonias is always mandatory, but it's high build demand ofa needlessly large rod can be hard to farm for diana, especially when not itemizing aggressively or defensively against your lane opponent with a seekers armguard. From alot of testing I find the best way to go is Lich bane - Zhonias hourglass. Lich bane's procs means you'll always outdamage your enemy opponent, assuming you get out 2 probs at least, unless he built the same item. If you rush zhonias, which is still situationally good, building abyssal after it really doesn't work out as much as people would like to believe it does, as straight up rabadons gives you much more damage, and a measly 45 mr, that the typical midlaner matches up with 40 mr from athenes truly doesn't make you as tanky of a mage as people like to think it does. The only way to truly be a tanky enough mage to prevent getting instantly blown up is roa, and that doesn't work properly on diana. So in my opinion, and practice lich bane - zhonias - rabadons - sorc shoes - void staff - ga provides for alot more damage than having abyssal scepter instead of bane, and only trading a measly amount of magic resist that's only prevalent very early in the game and results in you being **** over by other people in the game.
I will talk about why to DON'T buy this in my NOOB TRAP section in the items chapter. If you want to play a champion which use Nashor's Tooth well, go for Kayle or Teemo. If you want a champion using Lichbane, there is Akali, Fizz and Twisted Fate which benefits this items way much better. These items boost your combo damage or sustain damage, but the small amount of AP they give for my shield hurt too much in my opinion. An other reason is than you will miss an item slot which could have be taken for an Guardian Angel.
I will put a build comparison in my guide tonight to show the difference and some math. It will make easier to understand where is my logic. If you build about 500 Ap and more, yes it's strong. But I really think Diana is more a Bruiser/Assassin than a pure Assassin.
When the guide will be ended, I will rename it "Champion analysis : Diana v.1". :p
