Great guide! However, your rift herald is outdated. He no longer gives a buff.

If I get my current account back up to Plat or so, I might write a guide. But for now, I have a little advice for Eve players:

Don't be lured into the whole "must spam AP" trap.

Although skill-wise AP is the most effective build, it's absolutely not the best ranked build. 1) It puts you out of the possibility of a team fight, because once you start fighting, you'll be cc'd and killed before you can even ult.
2) It makes you rely far more often on using passive to heal, which results in you being in the fights far less often.
3) It actually slows your gold stacking, because once your jungle and solo fights end, your gold will dry up, making your late game miserable.
4) It does on average far less damage than other builds, because you just can't stay in a fight long enough, and because usually you're aware of this, you're far more timid about joining a fight you can't win, other than throwing a W.

The build I'm using actually borrows from how I used to play Eve, and it works.

I do get my jungle Luden's.
But I do not get a Lich Bane. Instead, if the team has some strong AD assassins or brawlers who normally would destroy Eve, I go Iceborne. Iceborn didn't affect old eve any worse than it did the old eve, since 1) It offered neither Ad or AP, and 2) because its sheen only doubles BASE AD, which doesn't change no matter what build you use. But what it does do: 20% CDR, tons of tankability, and a nice aoe slow, which better situates eve to keep her targets from running.

Then, to get a little more defense/but offensive, I get Zhonyas and Banshee's to round out her defenses, and to boost her AP to a respectable level. After that, it's pretty much up to the player what they want the 5th item to be.

The build's MUCH cheaper, much faster snowball and most importantly: It doesn't pop like a grape.

E ensures you'll do damage, especially when your opponents tight group (the % damage is an aoe)W ensures you'll set your team up for kills if you can't manage them yourself, and you can actually have a team fight presence. Q is good "enough" on this build, sitting around 300 AP to fuel it.

So far, I'm pulling about 35k damage games, which most Eves playing right now with meta builds is not NEAR what they are accomplishing on a pure AP cannon build. Their games are ending before 300 AP, even though they build AP, and they are either getting flopped hard on kill contribution/objective control, or their team is carrying the slack. They do manage 10 kill games, but that alone does not mean they are playing Eve well enough for ranked.

My games have near a 60% kill contribution; My last game was 16/7/21, and at my peak I was at 13/1/18 (team started melting to a Yorick whose wraith they didn't kill while focusing on the Cait hammering them)

Hey, i understand your logic and truth is i havent played the new Eve in highly competitive environment yet. Im gonna do it next season. The build i recommend is the most "generic" and the ultimate one to do your job as an assassin. It suggest you have a team that have a frontline, need of an assassin, can peel for you etc and the enemy isnt consist of champs that counter you in every department. Ofc against hard match ups you can feel the build weaknesses and the champion design as a whole. In such games, its inevitable to go for more defensive approach and pick items like Banshee or Hourglass. I had many such games. Ive played Eve and LoL enough, to be able to feel when fully offensive approach will fail me and i hope players that follow my guide can comprehend that too. In such games i leave items like Lich Bane in the stash and go for safer bets, usually early Haunting Guise and Banshee, or Hourglass(strongly depending on what champions i face). For me, the most important thing is to manage to execute my combo. E.g. if i face supps like Thresh/Blitz/Morg, i rush Banshee immediately. If i face assassins like Zed, Fizz, i rush Hourglass. In such cases my core would consist of Echoes ofc, Liandrys, but finished in later state and Hourglass and/or Banshee. I always finish with Void Staff because there almost isnt a scenario where the enemy would entirely neglect magic resistance and its scaling on Eve abilities would be comparable with other items.
What i really dont think fit in your build is using Gauntlet. Apart of the spellblade proc on E, i dont find anything appealing for the new Eve design. Plus is has low synergy with other items you recommend. What you gain is high armor. This is highly narrow in its efficiency and can only work against strong AD teams. It also shifts away from the champion purpose. Plus you strongly insist for Hourglass, but why would you need so much armor and durability, if you have that emergency button. Its designed for fragile champs, not for bruisers. You also gain alot of CDR, but that simply isnt a main stat to strive for on the new Eve. I find it cool as a second grade stat on her items, but not as a main feature and neglecting AP. Then you gain the utility slow. Again i dont find it that fittin on the new Eve design and it provides little to no benefit in easing her combo. Rylai slow would find better use in making sure you land Allure CC. A more suitable slow or approach effect like Protobelt, or Gunblade even better. Actually since no AD scaling, i find even GLP to be better than Gunblade. Overall Protobelt can work much better than Gauntlet, in providing durability, utility and damage. The only synergy you can really gain is the combo of Liandry and Gauntlet against tanks.
If im to go for defensive approach, im either gonna stick to AP/def items like Liandry, Hourglass, Banshee, or go directly for one full defensive item like Deadman/Omen, when it can truly counter the enemy and again, id scrap some of the defensive utility like Hourglass, which is alot less useful under the shape of a tank build.
And as a side note, if you did spend at last 5-10 minutes to read some of my guide and comprehend the idea, you would know the stance i reply you here by now. Just dropping your comment in sorta bashful and discriminative conduct is insulting.

I think that the abilities are in the wrong spot with the rework because she has no ulti but two q's.

How is Evelynn faring as a jungler in this patch? I haven't seen her in a *long* time, and she wasn't hybrid. Are the clear times still good? Does she have a means to compete against the Lee Sin, Rengar, Kha'Zix, Shaco-heavy lanes of today? How about the comp--can she still be the one-shot wonder in the meta that's shifting towards being tankier?

Hi, you place a very seasonable question. Truth is i dont play her actively since i reached diamond a month ago, because i want to maintain my division and i am practicing other champions on normal. This being said, i cant give you an answer based on recent experience, but assumptions. Altho my guide says "hybrid", i am not presenting a hybrid build which was the initial purpose of the guide, but i kept this title, because the champion still is a hybrid.
Clear times havent changed too much since 1-2 months, she has some problems with single target camps, but does great against multiple monsters and the generous raptors camp. She has some sustain problems during her early levels, so she requires a specific items. I havent had problems against Shaco, or Rengar, but Lee and Kha can be problematic. Ofc with enough experience you can avoid disadvantageous situations and strike where the enemy is weak(i.e. dont fight Lee or Kha directly :P ). The times she was a one-shot wonder are far in the past, she can deal a significant amount of burst, but its very tricky to caught a fragile enemy off guard. The items section is full of protection mechanism items(Locket, Redemption), champs with disengage tools and as you say the focus on durability items. Currently there are 3 AD-MR items, which are common among adcs, squishy champs also got an additional MR per level. Cheap durability items of all kinds are all over the place. The new Adaptive helm is a huge counter. At the same time Evelynn is put in the "shadows" and everyone is expecting the upcoming rework, so i guess we all should just chill for a while and pray everything gets alright!

That's true--I had completely forgotten her impeding rework. I hope they don't change her so much that her rather unique playstyle feels ruined, but... we'll see. Thanks for the prolonged response. :>

The hybrid Evelynn build was lovely, the one game I actually managed to complete the first 2 item (not counting warrior). I like it overall and your guide is very detailed and well-made, but a cheaper version of the build would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for reading.

You never build Eve full damage, not in competitive games atleast. If you look carefully the core build, you would see besides the 2 pure defensive items, there hardly is durability stats on the other items, they are almost purely offensive. Compare it to the mainstream AP build- the full build will often consist of Rylai, Protobelt and GA. GA being a pure defensive item and the other two giving a good chunk of health, place it very similar to this build, in terms of spent gold for tanky stats.

Never buy more than one pure defensive item. The tankier evelynn is the more useless she is. If she deals no damage she is so easy to ignore since she does not have heavy cc

for the on-hit build, armor penetration is better suited because both BOTRK and Bloodrazor on-hit effects does physical damage.
