Hello sion players! It is my belief that if you wish to play sion, i have the knowledge, success, and experience to help you off to a great start with the tankiest scariest mofo on summoners rift. Sion is a fantastic roamer and a devastating initiator. As a Sion player you dictate when teamfights will occur and are responsible for creating chaos and opportunities for your teammates. Did your bot lane get off to a rocky start? Hit level 6, push your lane out, go buy some health or armor, and ult down bot lane to give your ad carry a kill or two. He has been nerfed a bit lately, but don't let that deter you from playing Sion, he did not lose any power from his teamfight potential. I hope you enjoy this guide, have fun playing sion!

This runepage is designed to give Sion a bit of tankiness early, extra damage on all his abilities with the hybrid pen runes, cooldown reduction for ability spam in lane and in teamfights, and scaling magic resist. you can also run hybrid pen quints and a 21/9 mastery page if you plan on harassing your opponent to death with your E, but you will notice the loss of tankiness.

This mastery page is used when playing Sion as a CC tank. I have experimented with running a 21/9/0 mastery page, but this one is the most useful for your team. lets face it: everyone wants to carry. It is your job with Sion to make sure your teammates get to do just that, and this mastery page makes you tanky enough to get the job done in and out of lane.

The only issues some people may have with this item build: righteous glory and warmogs are not prioritized. if you are fighting an AP top, Warmogs is a great purchase, but Im a randuins guy. I find myself building locket frequently, but it can be replaced with banshees veil or spirit visage if the jungler or support picks up an aegis early. the combination of thornmail, sunfire cape, frozen heart, and randuins allows you to zone out the ad carry from teamfights, and usually at least one other member of the enemy team will get peeled off trying to help the enemy AD carry. you may not have much magic resist with this build, but merc treads and locket, will get the job done when combined with Sions 4.5k hp

Sion is easy to lane with, can deal with splitpushers, is one of the deadliest lane gankers, can peel for his team, and does a surprising amount of burst damage. your goal with sion should be to farm up that passive hp, and snowball your other lanes. sion has been nerfed hard, his once godly laning is noticeably weaker now, but his teamfight is as stong as ever.
In a teamfight, use your ult to initiate, and make sure no one jumps on your carries.
Sion can also be built with a little ap!!!!! (rod of ages, frozen gauntlet) This build works great against squishy lane opponents (quinn, teemo, jayce)

flash and teleport are standard, run ignite for fun if you have played a lot of sion and want to build damage or ap!
