I think fiddles is best played in the lane because early game dark wind is amazing! heroes usually start with around 400-600 health and dark wind does 100 per bounce, if u are lucky enough to get 2 hits on the same target they are going to feel it, especially with all the magic pen that you have for runes. If you are getting raped in lane, then i would get one level of drain, it will give you 300 health in one go, so you cant be harassed out of lane. Fiddles is a nightmare in lane if you play him aggressive, because for 50 mana you can spam an ability that prevents them from casting spells and takes anywhere from 1/4 to 1/6 of their health.
PLZ spam dark wind like crazy because it only cost 50 mana at level one and 70 at level two and early game is when it hurts the most. I try to get three levels of fear before level 6 so u can guarantee that you get the kill from his ult because 2 seconds is at least 300 damage from his ult.
i think ghost and flash are amazing abilities that are critical for getting a perfect crow storm. They are also useful for escaping and catching up with heroes. This game is based around hero kill more so then farming, so i feel these two abilities really make fiddles shine.
classic 9-0-21.You definitely need to get the magic pen and getting reduced cd on summoner spells is amazing, as well as cd reduction on your normal spells. 21 into defense is decent, but with the item build you should be pretty tanky. i would stick with the classic 9-0-21.
I don't get the quints for health because magic pen is the best thing for fiddles imo. You do get a little bit of health from the yellow which should be sufficient. I can see people changing the blues to cd reduction, but i enjoy having massive magic pen.
I believe that catalyst is one of the best items in the game, and gotten early means you are a monster early-mid game because of the amazing health it gives when you level. Next i get sorcerer boots for more magic pen. the haunting is perfect for fiddles because he has horrible ap ratios and benefits the most from cd reduction and magic pen items. Also the magic pen from the boots, runes and haunting will hurt A LOT early to mid game, while still carrying over into the late game. Rylai's is also strong on him for the extra health and the slows on his abilities. I feel like those are his core items, afterward i usually get death fire because of the amazing cd reduction and the active ability. My rationalization behind getting tons of tank items is to keep him alive during the entire duration of his crow storms. I feel like the best counter to fiddles is just straight bursting him down when he ults into the middle of a group, but with more tank items that becomes much harder to do.
