After 9.5 Vi's E can crit. And this spell have 0.9 scale from AP. That's a great scale for all the mages. What we can do with that?

Gunblade gives you a great damage boost, lifesteal and slow for fast enemies.

Rabandon increases that boost. Yes, your autoattack will suck, but you dont need it. How many AD you can get by 6 slots? 500 is max. But you can get 1000+ AP. Can anyone crit with all these power? Only Vi can.

And dont forget, with all these items E deals physichal damage.

Why mid?

Vi is great jungler, but AP E is really strong. That have a great distance and fast cooldown. At max lvl you can use it for every single strike. Also you have a passive shield and you can not worry about incoming damage. Just spam E to minions and you will dominate, no matter against whom.
