This build style allows you to play your role on TFs more effectively by allowing you to survive longer, therefore allowing you to keep your entire enemy team perms-snared while ulti'ing their carry and dragging him back to be eaten alive. Skarner takes alot of dmg in this role, as many times he'll be focused the moment teams see him entering the fray in order to avoid losing their carry.

The combination of hp, armor,shield, and banshees bubble will allow you to laugh hysterically at their futile attempts to bring you down, while the additional dmg gained through atmas and manamune's bonuses paired with sheen/trinity proc via your never on cooldown Q snare will enable you to take someone down every dive and drag attempt you make intelligently.
